Did you hear, Upper East Siders? There might be a reboot on its way…<\/p>\n

CW President Mark Pedowitz\u00a0<\/strong> told reporters<\/a> at the CW’s portion of the TV Critics’ Association press tour on Thursday that there’s “a discussion happening” when it comes to a reboot of Gossip Girl<\/em>. “But I don’t know if we’re there yet.”\u00a0<\/p>\n

Pedowitz said, “I don’t know what it would be,” but it all comes down to the involvement of original EPs Josh Schwartz<\/strong> and Stephanie Savage<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“‘Cause you don’t want to do anything without them.”\u00a0<\/p>\n

Gossip Girl<\/em> ended in 2012, and as of 2016’s ATX TV Festival, Schwartz and Savage were saying they hadn’t thought about rebooting the show at all.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

“We haven’t really explored some of those conversations,” Schwartz told E! News back then<\/a>. “Maybe, I don’t know. We haven’t really thought about it.”<\/p>\n

However, Schwartz also acknowledged “the Internet has changed,” and the internet has changed even more since 2016, so a Gossip Girl<\/em> made up of Instagram influencers makes an awful lot of sense.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“The world has become Gossip Girl<\/em> now. … Now literally everyone is Gossip Girl<\/em>.”\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

While we wait for The CW to get “there,” we can at least watch the next iteration of Penn Badgley<\/a><\/strong>‘s Dan (AKA Gossip Girl) as the terrifying social media stalker Joe Goldberg on You<\/em>, which is streaming on Netflix in case you’re not one of the potential 40 million people tuning into that.\u00a0<\/p>\n

But really, CW, we will be waiting.\u00a0<\/p>\n
