Hilary Duff<\/a><\/strong> plays her most harrowing role yet in\u00a0The Haunting of Sharon Tate<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The 31-year-old\u00a0Younger\u00a0<\/em>star and\u00a0Lizzie McGuire<\/em> alum plays\u00a0the actress, who was murdered at age 26 in 1969 by\u00a0followers of cult leader\u00a0Charles Manson<\/strong>\u00a0while she was pregnant with\u00a0husband and director’s\u00a0Roman Polanski<\/a><\/strong>‘s child. Four other people were also killed at the time.<\/p>\n

In the film, Duff-as-Tate has premonitions of her murder.\u00a0In the first official trailer, obtained exclusively by E! News,\u00a0her character\u00a0is shown roaming the\u00a0Beverly Hills home\u00a0Tate shared with Polanski before her murderers, members of the “Manson Family,” apparently make their presence known. Manson is\u00a0seen being led away by authorities.<\/p>\n

Mean Girls<\/em> alum\u00a0Jonathan Bennett<\/strong> plays\u00a0Jay Sebring and Lydia Hearst<\/strong>\u00a0plays Abigail Folger, two of the other murder victims.<\/p>\n

Daniel Farrands<\/strong>, who directed last year’s\u00a0The Amityville Murders<\/em>, helmed and wrote\u00a0The Haunting of Sharon Tate<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

In February 2018, Duff shared on Instagram<\/a> a photo of herself dressed as Tate.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

“Had the incredible opportunity of playing Sharon Tate the past two weeks in an independent movie,” Duff wrote. “She was an amazing woman and it was a true honor.”<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n
