The\u00a0Young and the Restless<\/em> family has lost a beloved member.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Kristoff St. John<\/strong>, the actor who originated the role of Neil Winters on the long-running soap opera nearly three decades ago, has died. The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed to E! News that St. John was found dead in his home in Calif. around 2 p.m. on Sunday. Authorities have not disclosed any further details and the cause of his death is unknown at this time. St. John was 52 years old.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A New York native, he got his start on television with brief appearances on shows like\u00a0Happy Days\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Wonder Woman<\/em>. By the late 1980s, St. John landed a recurring role on\u00a0Charlie & Co.\u00a0<\/em>before\u00a0The Young and the Restless<\/em> in 1991, on which he starred until his death.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

St. John won two Daytime Emmy Awards for his performance on the show and was nominated an additional nine times.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In 2017, he reportedly\u00a0underwent psychiatric treatment<\/a> after an alleged scare regarding his mental health, according to Entertainment Weekly<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

St. John was married and divorced twice, first to Mia St. John<\/strong>, with whom he welcomed son\u00a0Julian<\/strong> and daughter\u00a0Paris<\/strong>. Julian died of an apparent suicide in 2014 at the age of 24.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The actor was later married to\u00a0Allana Nadal<\/strong>, with whom he had daughter\u00a0Lola<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Hs is survived by two of his children and his fianc\u00e9\u00a0Kseniya Mikhaleva<\/strong>, who he proposed to in August.\u00a0<\/p>\n
