Fan Bingbing<\/strong> has officially returned to social media, sharing a post on Instagram for the first time in over eight months.<\/p>\n

The 37-year-old actress took to Instagram on Monday to share two selfies with her fans, captioning the post, “\u795d\u5927\u5bb6\u65b0\u6625\u5feb\u4e50\u3001\u5e73\u5b89\u5065\u5eb7\uff01\u7231\u4f60\u4eec\u3002.” The caption translates to, “I wish you all a happy New Year, safe and healthy! Love you.”<\/p>\n

Bingbing last\u00a0shared a post on Instagram in May 2018,\u00a0around the same time\u00a0she disappeared from the public eye<\/a>. As fans grew worried for the star in September, reports started to surface that Bingbing was involved in a possible tax evasion scandal in China.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

In early October,\u00a0The New York Times<\/a>\u00a0reported that Bingbing\u00a0was fined approximately $70 million in unpaid taxes and penalties.\u00a0According to the publication, tax authorities said that Bingbing\u00a0would not face criminal charges if she paid her fine and $60 million\u00a0her production company owed in\u00a0back taxes.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

It was around this same time that, according to The Hollywood Reporter<\/a><\/em>, Bingbing posted an apology<\/a> on her Weibo account.<\/p>\n

“I feel ashamed that I committed tax evasion in the film ‘Unbreakable Spirit’ and on other projects by taking advantage of ‘yin yang contracts,'” Bingbing wrote, referencing when actors sign two contracts for a job, one with the correct payment amount and one with a lower payment amount for tax purposes.<\/p>\n

She later wrote, “I completely accept the penalties given by the taxation authorities after their thorough investigation. I totally accepted all of them, and will raise funds to pay my taxes and penalties regardless of any obstacles.”<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n
