She will take the stage to accept the Advocate for Change Award at the 30th Annual Awards in New York City, where tons of stars will gather for the important cause.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Madonna always has and always will be the LGBTQ community&#8217;s greatest ally\u00a0and it is only fitting to honor and celebrate our biggest advocate at GLAAD&#8217;s biggest event ever,&#8221; said GLAAD President and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis. &#8220;From the HIV crisis to international LGBTQ\u00a0issues, she fearlessly pushes for a world where LGBTQ people are accepted.\u00a0Her music and art have been life-saving outlets for LGBTQ people over the years\u00a0and her affirming words and actions have changed countless hearts and minds.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"text-2\" data-hook=\"scrollable-block\" readability=\"58\">\n<section data-textblock-tracking=\"text-block-text-only\" data-swiftype-index=\"false\" readability=\"6\">\n<p>While there are countless reasons why the &#8220;Like a Prayer&#8221; singer deserves this award, the organization cited her\u00a0AIDS benefit concerts, her creation of a benefit dance marathon and &#8220;spoke\u00a0out\u00a0and demanded action\u00a0at a time when AIDS\u00a0was too often invisible in the media.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"text-3\" data-hook=\"scrollable-block\" readability=\"58\">\n<section data-textblock-tracking=\"text-block-text-only\" data-swiftype-index=\"false\" readability=\"9.6666666666667\">\n<p>Moreover, the star has continued to offer her support to the LGBTQ community and is an outspoken advocate for the LGBTQ community in\u00a0Romania, Malawi, Russia and more.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This is only the second time the award has been bestowed upon someone, and the first time a woman was awarded.
