Jennifer Lawrence<\/a><\/strong> is getting married!<\/p>\n

The 27-year-old Oscar winner is engaged to art gallerist\u00a0Cooke Maroney<\/strong>, her rep confirmed to E! News<\/a> on Tuesday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The news comes roughly eight months since the two were first romantically linked in June. At the time, Jennifer and her new man were spotted by photographers<\/a> for the first time together during a casual date in New York City.\u00a0<\/p>\n

While a big congratulations is in order for these lovebirds, you may be wondering who Cooke is and how he snagged Hollywood’s golden girl. Here are five things to know about J. Law’s future husband:\u00a0<\/p>\n

1. He’s in the NYC Art Scene<\/strong>:\u00a0<\/p>\n

Maroney works as a director at Gladstone 64, one of the Gladstone Galleries, which represents big name artists including\u00a0Lena Dunham<\/a><\/strong>‘s father, Carroll Dunham<\/strong>. Prior to Gladstone, Cooke worked at Gagosian Gallery. His father, James Maroney, also worked as an art deale<\/a>r.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

There he reportedly studied art history, and clearly continues to pursue his passion in the Big Apple!\u00a0<\/p>\n

3. J. Law’s BFF Reportedly Introduced the Pair<\/strong>:\u00a0<\/p>\n

Laura Simpson<\/strong>, the actress’ lifelong bestie who accompanied her to the 2014 Oscars, set Jennifer and Cooke up, reports Page Six<\/a>. “They met through Jen’s friend Laura,” says a source. “The relationship has been going on a few weeks. But they have been very private and careful not to be seen together.”<\/p>\n

4. He’s a Major Man About Town<\/strong>:\u00a0<\/p>\n
