Unforgettable, that’s what this was.<\/p>\n

At the\u00a02019 Grammys<\/a><\/strong> on Sunday, host\u00a0Alicia Keys<\/a><\/strong> treated\u00a0viewers to a beautiful\u2014and double\u2014piano performance of a medley of pop, R&B and rap hits from\u00a0past and present years that have inspired her as a singer-songwriter.<\/p>\n

“How we feeling tonight? Yes, you know, the vibes are so right,\u00a0at Club Keys, I want to welcome y’all to Club Keys, where the music is cool and timeless and the vibe is so sensational,” she said. “I’ve been think so much about the people and the music that have inspired me and I want to give a shouted out to [late jazz pianist]\u00a0Hazel Scott<\/strong>, because I always wanted to play two pianos.”<\/p>\n

Keys’ medley included “Killing Me Softly” by Roberta Flack<\/strong>\u00a0and made more famous in 1997 by the Fugees<\/strong>, “Lucid Dreams” by\u00a0Juice Wrld<\/strong>, “Unforgettable” by\u00a0Nat King Cole<\/strong>, “Use Somebody” by Kings Of Leon<\/a><\/strong>,\u00a0“In My Feelings” by\u00a0Drake<\/a><\/strong>, “Boo’d Up” by Ella Mai<\/strong>,\u00a0“Doo-Wop (That Thing)” by Fugees singer Lauryn Hill<\/strong>, plus Keys\u00a0and\u00a0Jay-Z<\/strong>‘s 2009 hit “Empire State of Mind.”<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

During her performance, Keys gave a birthday shout-out to Flack, who turned 82 on Sunday, and\u00a0also paid tribute to her husband,\u00a0Swizz Beatz<\/a><\/strong>, who was sitting in the audience.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

“You know, music is just, you know those songs that just live inside of you, it lives inside of me and you just love it so much because it was done so well that you wish you wrote it,” Keys said. “That’s how I feel about these songs. I wish I wrote them.”<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n
