Cardi B<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0paid tribute to Mac Miller<\/a><\/strong> after beating the late rapper for\u00a0a Grammy in the only category he has ever been nominated in.<\/p>\n

She won\u00a0the award for Best Rap Album, her first Grammy<\/a>,\u00a0for\u00a0Invasion of Privacy<\/em>, at the\u00a02019 Grammys<\/a><\/strong> on Sunday.\u00a0His ex and fellow first-time winner Ariana\u00a0Grande<\/strong> was not happy<\/a>\u00a0about it, tweeting and then\u00a0deleted\u00a0tweets that said, “trash, “f–k” and “literal bulls–t.”\u00a0She also posted and deleted a response to a fan\u00a0that said, “THEY INVITED HIS PARENTS OUT. NO.” Following online backlash, Grande apologized, saying, “Nothing to do w her. good for her. i promise.”<\/p>\n

Cardi later posted on her Instagram<\/a> page a video of herself thanking people for their support, adding, “I read an article that Mac Miller’s family said that if he don’t win, they want me to win, so I’m sharing this Grammy with you, motherf–ker! Rest in peace!”<\/p>\n

The rapper died of a\u00a0drug overdose<\/a>\u00a0last September. He was among several people honored in the Grammys’ annual\u00a0In Memoriam<\/em>\u00a0tribute video. Mac’s mother\u00a0Karen Meyers<\/strong>\u00a0was spotted\u00a0at the Grammys ceremony\u00a0with<\/a>\u00a0Cazzie David<\/strong>\u00a0by her side.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

Cardi then posted<\/a>\u00a0a screenshot of the article, published by Us Weekly<\/a><\/em>\u00a0in January.\u00a0Grande commented<\/a> on it with six black heart emojis.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

“WE WON A F–KIN GRAMMY,”\u00a0Cardi wrote.<\/p>\n

With her Grammy win for Best Rap Album, Cardi made history; she is\u00a0first female solo winner to take home\u00a0the award.\u00a0It marked Cardi’s first Grammy win and seventh nomination overall.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n
