Lady Gaga<\/a><\/strong>‘s\u00a0A Star Is Born<\/em> success will follow her always.<\/p>\n

The 32-year-old singer and actress got a tattoo of a rose inked on her back, with the words “La Vie en Rose,” a reference to French singer\u00a0\u00c9dith Piaf<\/strong>‘s signature song, which Gaga’s character Ally sings in\u00a0Bradley Cooper<\/a><\/strong>‘s movie remake just before she meets his character, Jackson Maine.\u00a0Cooper, who makes his directorial debut with\u00a0A Star Is Born<\/em>, cast Gaga in the leading female role\u00a0after\u00a0watching her perform “La Vie en Rose” at the\u00a0opening<\/a>\u00a0of the Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy at\u00a0Sean Parker<\/strong>‘s house in 2016.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The meaning of the words, loosely translated, is “life in pink,”\u00a0i.e., to view life through rose-colored glasses.<\/p>\n

“Happy Valentine’s Day,” Gaga wrote on Instagram<\/a> on Thursday, alongside a photo of her new back ink. “A tattoo toast to ‘la vie en rose’ by the beautiful @winterstone my spinal cord is now a rose.”<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

Cooper and Gaga are both nominated for Oscars for their acting performances in A Star Is Born<\/em>. The movie is also nominated<\/a> for Best Picture and a few other awards, including Best Original Song for the actors’ duet “Shallow.” The\u00a02019 Oscars<\/a><\/strong> will take place on February 24.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

Last weekend, Gaga and Cooper won two awards for “Shallow” at the\u00a02019 Grammys<\/a><\/strong>. He was unable to attend the show but she did and also performed the track onstage<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

The Star Is Born<\/em> tribute tattoo isn’t the only ink\u00a0Gaga got recently. She and her manager,\u00a0Bobby Campbell<\/strong>, also got matching tattoos. Gaga\u00a0posted<\/a> a photo of G-A-G-A notes on a musical staff, seen on her arm.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

“G A G A…and when you get a tattoo and you’re me you always have to get two,” she wrote. “Also by @winterstone and also a matching tattoo w my bestie and manager @wanaynay and major malfunction were missing staff line…too many tequilas!!!”<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n
