I am blown away simply because this has been a goal on my list for a long time&#8230;.To be able to join the legendary list of host that have graced that stage is unbelievable.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0On Dec. 7, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/994207\/kevin-hart-steps-down-as-2019-oscars-host\" target=\"_blank\">Hart tweeted<\/a>, &#8220;I&#8217;m sorry that I hurt people.. I am evolving and want to continue to do so. My goal is to bring people together not tear us apart.\u00a0Much love &amp; appreciation to the Academy. I hope we can meet again.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>About a month later, he announced once and for all that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/1001719\/kevin-hart-decides-he-won-t-host-the-oscars-after-all\" target=\"_blank\">he would not be hosting<\/a> the show. &#8220;It&#8217;s done,&#8221; he told\u00a0<em>Variety<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"text-2\" data-hook=\"scrollable-block\" readability=\"49.454545454545\">\n<section data-textblock-tracking=\"text-block-text-only\" data-swiftype-index=\"false\" readability=\"13.909090909091\">\n<p>Now, the show will go on without a host for the first time in 30 years. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/features\/politics-oscar-inside-academys-long-hard-road-a-hostless-show-1187424\" target=\"_blank\">According to\u00a0<em>Hollywood Reporter<\/em><\/a>, it&#8217;s only the second time to ever happen in the show&#8217;s history. Even though there won&#8217;t be a host, there&#8217;s still a star-studded lineup of presenters including <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/jennifer_lopez\">Jennifer Lopez<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/daniel_craig\">Daniel Craig<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/emilia_clarke\">Emilia Clarke<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/laura_dern\">Laura Dern<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/samuel_l_jackson\">Samuel L. Moments later,\u00a0<em>La La Land<\/em>&#8216;s producer <strong>Jordan Horowitz<\/strong> corrected the situation and said into the microphone, &#8220;Guys, I&#8217;m sorry. There&#8217;s a mistake.\u00a0<em>Moonlight<\/em>, you guys won Best Picture. This is not a joke. He called it the &#8220;opportunity of a lifetime&#8221; and that he was &#8220;blown away&#8221; by the honors. Two days later, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/994207\/kevin-hart-steps-down-as-2019-oscars-host\" target=\"_blank\">he stepped down<\/a> as the host after facing backlash due to homophobic tweets from 2011 that resurfaced.
