Hello, Academy? We need to talk.<\/p>\n

Remember when Kevin Hart<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0pulled out of hosting<\/a> the\u00a02019 Oscars<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0after being criticized over past homophobic comments? And then you guys went with the whole, “No host this year!” thing, and we were all like,\u00a0uh, OK, sure, guess that could work, lil’ odd though.<\/p>\n

And then Oscars Sunday came and\u00a0Tina Fey<\/a><\/strong>,\u00a0Amy Poehler<\/a><\/strong> and\u00a0Maya Rudolph<\/a><\/strong> stepped out onstage.\u00a0What?<\/em><\/p>\n

And\u00a0our hearts leaped\u00a0out of our chests. And then Tina said, “We are not your hosts. But we’re going to stand here a little too long so that the people who get USA Today<\/em>\u00a0tomorrow will think that we hosted.”<\/p>\n

That’s funny stuff. And it\u00a0hurts<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The three would go on to delight us with more zingers, such as, “There won’t be a popular movie category, and Mexico is not paying for the wall,” before they presented the award for best supporting actress.<\/p>\n

You\u00a0tease<\/em> us, you\u00a0tease<\/em>.<\/p>\n

So Academy, let’s get this straight: Tina, Amy and Maya, who last reunited onstage for a 2015\u00a0SNL<\/em>\u00a0Christmas episode, had\u00a0no other plans<\/em> this Sunday, and were\u00a0perfectly willing<\/em> to\u00a0grace us with their presence to present an award and make the\u00a0Oscars even better<\/em>, just for a few minutes,\u00a0and no one thought to ask, “Hey, ladies, we don’t have a host…HERE’S A GREAT IDEA! How about you guys just HOST THE WHOLE SHOW?”<\/p>\n

No?<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

Gonna leave this right here, and actually, gonna assume that you\u00a0did<\/em> ask them, and they made up some excuse and declined, because they obviously hate us…right?<\/p>\n

Got it. Not gonna lie, that stings.<\/p>\n

So, maybe next year, extend the invitation again? You see, when Tina and Amy get onstage together, it’s comedy gold. Remember the 2015 Golden Globes<\/a>? Come on, let’s one-up that! Because when\u00a0Maya joins the two, the trio, in the words of\u00a0Marie Kondo<\/strong>, spark more joy than you could ever imagine. They are\u00a0made<\/em> for hosting the Oscars.<\/p>\n

We love the Oscars. But you know what would make the 2020 Oscars extra great? If you got Tina, Amy and Maya to co-host\u00a0the show.<\/p>\n

Do whatever you need to do to make this happen…we have faith in you.<\/p>\n
