Another Oscars ceremony is in the books!\u00a0<\/p>\n

As is tradition, the 2019 Academy Awards<\/a> closed by announcing the winner of Best Picture.\u00a0Green Book<\/em> took home the most prestigious honor on Sunday evening, and the film’s stars, producers and director took the stage inside the Dolby Theatre to accept the award.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Producer\u00a0Jim Burke<\/strong>\u00a0called the honor a “dream,” adding, “It’s such a privilege. We need to start by thanking our friends at Participant Media, who have been with us every step of the way.”<\/p>\n

“We made this film with love, and we made it with tenderness and we made it with respect. It was all done under the direction of\u00a0Pete Farrelly<\/strong>,” Burke continued.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“It’s about loving each other despite our differences and finding out about who we are… The same people,” Pete said onstage during his portion of the acceptance speech, then proceeding to shout out\u00a0Green Book<\/em>‘s leading actors,\u00a0Viggo Mortensen<\/a><\/strong>,\u00a0Mahershala Ali<\/a><\/strong> and\u00a0Linda Cardellini<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

“All of these awards are because of Viggo, and Mahershala and Linda. But it started with Viggo,” the director applauded.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Charles B. Wessler<\/strong>\u00a0concluded the heartfelt speech by dedicating the honor to the late actress\u00a0Carrie Fisher<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

Eight films were nominated<\/a>\u00a0for Best Picture this year, including\u00a0A Star Is Born<\/em>,\u00a0Roma<\/em>,\u00a0BlacKkKlansman<\/em>,\u00a0The Favourite<\/em>,\u00a0Black Panther<\/em>,\u00a0Bohemian Rhapsody<\/em> and\u00a0Vice<\/em>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In the hours leading up to the Best Picture reveal, Green Book<\/em>\u00a0was honored with the awards for Actor in a Supporting Role (Ali)<\/a> and Original Screenplay. Other major winners of the night include\u00a0Bohemian Rhapsody<\/em>,\u00a0Roma<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0A Star Is Born<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n
