Meryl Streep<\/a><\/strong> is stepping into a new role… and it’s nothing like she’s ever done before.<\/p>\n

The legendary actress is a first-time grandma!\u00a0<\/p>\n

Her eldest daughter, Mamie Gummer<\/strong>,\u00a0welcomes her\u00a0first child with her fianc\u00e9\u00a0Mehar Sethi<\/strong>, US<\/em>\u00a0Weekly<\/em> reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The True Detective<\/em> star gave birth to a baby boy, a rep confirmed to the publication. However, it’s unknown what\u00a0she and her partner named their\u00a0little bundle of joy.<\/p>\n

Both\u00a0The Ward<\/em>\u00a0star and her iconic mother are extremely private, so not many details have been shared about the new addition to their family. In true Streep fashion, fans of the actress and her daughter\u00a0will have to wait in suspense until more information is revealed.<\/p>\n

Last December, reports surfaced the 35-year-old actress was expecting her first child<\/a>\u00a0with the screenwriter. The exciting baby news came a few months after Mamie and Mehar got engaged in Croatia last August.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

At the time, the actress posted her engagement news on Instagram.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

Before Gummer’s relationship with Sethi, the Good Wife<\/em> actress was\u00a0married\u00a0to actor\u00a0Benjamin Walker<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The two met on the set of the play Dangerous Liaisons<\/em> back in 2008 and tied the knot in July 2011.<\/p>\n

However, the pair called it quits in 2013<\/a> after being married for nearly two years.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n
