Pop culture hearts are breaking around the world today following the passing of\u00a0Luke Perry<\/a><\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The actor of\u00a0Beverly Hills, 90210<\/em> and\u00a0Riverdale<\/em>\u00a0fame died on Monday morning<\/a>, days after reportedly suffering a stroke<\/a>, E! News has confirmed.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The 52-year-old star was surrounded by his children Jack<\/strong> and Sophie<\/strong>, fianc\u00e9 Wendy Madison Bauer<\/strong>, ex-wife Minnie Sharp<\/strong>, mother Ann Bennett<\/strong>, stepfather Steve Bennett<\/strong>, brother Tom Perry<\/strong>, sister Amy Coder<\/strong>\u00a0and other close family and friends.<\/p>\n

“The family appreciates the outpouring of support and prayers that have been extended to Luke from around the world, and respectfully request privacy in this time of great mourning,” his rep told E! News in a statement.\u00a0“No further details will be released at this time.”<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

Social media messages<\/a> of love and sadness poured in on the heels of the devastating news, particularly from his famed co-stars of years past.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Dearest Luke,\u00a0I will forever bask in the loving memories we’ve shared over the last thirty years,” longtime co-star Ian Ziering<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0wrote on Instagram.\u00a0“May your journey forward be enriched by the magnificent souls who have passed before you, just like you have done here for those you leave behind. God please give him a seat close to to you, he deserves it.”<\/p>\n

“With the heaviest of hearts, I am stunned and devastated to tell you that Luke passed away,” fellow Beverly Hills, 90210<\/em> star\u00a0Christine Elise McCarthy\u00a0<\/strong>wrote online. “I am still in shock and I have no words beyond saying he was a truly kind gentleman. He will be mourned and missed by everyone who knew him and the millions who love him.\u00a0RIP, dearie Luke. Your time here was far too short.”<\/p>\n
