News obtained court documents&nbsp;which show that both Huffman and Loughlin have been charged with conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud. The <em>Desperate Housewives<\/em> alum and the <em>Fuller House<\/em> star are among over 40 individuals who have been charged in connection with the scandal. According to the FBI affidavit, the scheme involved getting students admitted into&nbsp;elite colleges.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Beginning in or about 2011, and continuing through the present, the defendants\u2014principally individuals whose high-school aged children were applying to college\u2014conspired with others to use bribery and other forms of fraud to facilitate their children&#8217;s admission to colleges and universities in the District of Massachusetts and elsewhere, including Yale University, Stanford University, the University of Texas, the University of Southern California, and the University of California \u2013 Los Angeles, among others,&#8221; the affidavit states.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"text-2\" data-hook=\"scrollable-block\" readability=\"66.495575221239\">\n<section data-textblock-tracking=\"text-block-text-only\" data-swiftype-index=\"false\" readability=\"25.424778761062\">\n<p>The same day that the news broke, E! News confirmed that 13 defendants were taken into custody in the Los Angeles area, including defendant Huffman.<\/p>\n<p>The FBI affidavit&nbsp;states that Huffman and her &#8220;spouse,&#8221;&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/william_h_macy\">William H. Macy<\/a><\/strong>, made a purported charitable contribution of $15,000 to participate in the scheme on behalf of her eldest daughter. She &#8220;later made arrangements to pursue the scheme a second time, for her younger daughter, before deciding not to do so,&#8221; the document reads.<\/p>\n<p>Huffman and Macy are parents to&nbsp;<strong>Sofia Grace Macy<\/strong>, 18, and&nbsp;<strong>Georgia Grace Macy<\/strong>, 16.<\/p>\n<p>Macy, who has not been charged, was seated it the gallery in court on Tuesday afternoon as Huffman faced a judge.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"photo-txt-3\" data-hook=\"scrollable-block\" readability=\"32.090069284065\">\n<div class=\"column post-content__image--left post-content__image\" data-swiftype-index=\"false\"> <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"image--full\" src=\"https:\/\/akns-images.eonline.com\/eol_images\/Entire_Site\/2019213\/rs_634x1024-190313034723-634-Felicity-Huffman-Court-LA-LT-031319-MEGA379474_002.jpg?fit=inside|900:auto&amp;output-quality=90\" title=\"Feliciity Huffman, Court\" alt=\"Feliciity Huffman, Court\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"image__credits\">PG\/Rachpoot\/MEGA<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<section data-textblock-tracking=\"text-block-photo-text\" readability=\"9.1346153846154\">\n<p>Per the court orders,&nbsp;the Oscar nominee&nbsp;will surrender her passport and is required to seek pre-trial approval for any travel.<\/p>\n<p>Huffman was also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/1022820\/felicity-huffman-s-bond-set-at-250-000-in-college-admission-scandal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">granted a signature bond of $250,000<\/a> and has been ordered to appear in federal court in Boston on March 29. The signature bond requires&nbsp;the 56-year-old actress&nbsp;to sign a promise to return to court, but does not require a deposit of any cash or property with the court.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"text-5\" data-hook=\"scrollable-block\" readability=\"60.207792207792\">\n<section data-textblock-tracking=\"text-block-text-only\" data-swiftype-index=\"false\" readability=\"11.844155844156\">\n<p>While there are many theories as to why Macy has not been charged in this FBI investigation\u2014code name&nbsp;Operation Varsity Blues\u2014there&#8217;s been no official statement from authorities.<\/p>\n<p>New York Law School professor and former prosecutor&nbsp;<strong>Rebecca Roiphe<\/strong>&nbsp;shared one theory with&nbsp;<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vulture.com\/2019\/03\/william-h-macy-felicity-huffman-college-cheating-scandal.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Vulture<\/a><\/em>, stating, &#8220;One of the possibilities is that the husband is far less culpable.&nbsp;Maybe it&#8217;s possible that the government has far more evidence than it&#8217;s laid out here, and in this evidence, that Huffman played a far more significant role than her husband.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"photo-txt-6\" data-hook=\"scrollable-block\" readability=\"40.952380952381\">\n<div class=\"column post-content__image--left post-content__image\" data-swiftype-index=\"false\" readability=\"33\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"image--full\" src=\"https:\/\/akns-images.eonline.com\/eol_images\/Entire_Site\/2016222\/rs_634x1024-160322123237-634.lori-loughlin.ch.032216.jpg?fit=inside|900:auto&amp;output-quality=90\" title=\"Lori Loughlin\" alt=\"Lori Loughlin\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"image__credits\">John Russo courtesy of Crown Media United States, LLC<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<section data-textblock-tracking=\"text-block-photo-text\" readability=\"20.442028985507\">\n<p>As for Loughlin, she <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/1022957\/lori-loughlin-surrenders-to-fbi-taken-into-custody-over-college-admission-scandal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">surrendered to the FBI<\/a> on Wednesday and was taken into custody. She&#8217;s set to appear in court later today.<\/p>\n<p>The U.S. Attorney&#8217;s Office for the District of Massachusetts told E! News that Loughlin had not yet been arrested on Tuesday morning as she was out of the country. She was contact by federal authorities to come back and turn herself in. Loughlin&#8217;s husband&nbsp;<strong>Mossimo Giannulli<\/strong>&nbsp;was arrested&nbsp;Tuesday morning without incident.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s noted in the FBI affidavit, &#8220;The Guannullis agreed to a pay bribes totaling $500,000 in exchange for having their two daughters designated as recruits to the USC crew team\u2014despite the fact that they did not participate in crew\u2014thereby facilitating their admission to USC.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Loughlin and Giannulli have two daughters, <strong>Isabella Rose<\/strong>, 20, and YouTube star <strong>Olivia Jade<\/strong>, 19.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"text-8\" data-hook=\"scrollable-block\" readability=\"70\">\n<section data-textblock-tracking=\"text-block-text-only\" data-swiftype-index=\"false\" readability=\"30\">\n<p>Meanwhile,&nbsp;<strong>William &#8220;Rick&#8221; Singer<\/strong>, 58, was charged racketeering conspiracy, money laundering conspiracy, conspiracy to defraud US and obstruction of justice for his alleged involvement in the scheme. E! News has confirmed that Singer pled guilty to all counts on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>According to a Tuesday press release, Singer owned and operated the Edge College &amp; Career Network LLC (&#8220;The Key&#8221;) \u2013 a for-profit college counseling and preparation business \u2013 and served as the CEO of the Key Worldwide Foundation (KWF) \u2013 a non-profit corporation that he established as a purported charity.<\/p>\n<p>The release stated that between&nbsp;approximately 2011 and February 2019, Singer allegedly &#8220;conspired with dozens of parents, athletic coaches, a university athletics administrator, and others, to use bribery and other forms of fraud to secure the admission of students to colleges and universities including Yale University, Georgetown University, Stanford University, the University of Southern California, and Wake Forest University, among others.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"tune-in-9\" data-hook=\"scrollable-block\" readability=\"33\">\n<p class=\"tune-in__text\" data-swiftype-index=\"false\">Don&#8217;t miss <em>E!
