The Crawley family is coming back in a big way\u2014on the big screen. The Downton Abbey<\/em> movie is just months away\u2014in theaters September 20, 2019\u2014and now we’ve got the first look at some returning characters.<\/p>\n

Focus Features released four posters for the upcoming addition to the sprawling family saga spotlighting Edith (Laura Carmichael<\/strong>), Mary (Michelle Dockery<\/a><\/strong>), Thomas Barrow (Robert James-Collier<\/strong>) and Andy (Michael C. Fox<\/strong>). And these new character spotlights will transport you right back to the early 1900s\u2014and to a simpler time when there weren’t dozens of streaming services producing endless amounts of TV content. You could just turn on PBS and watch the stately soap Downton Abbey<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

Plot details are being kept under wraps, the movie has a teaser trailer<\/a> that doesn’t give much away. However, we do have a cast list: Dockery, Carmichael, James-Collier, Fox, Hugh Bonneville<\/strong>, Jim Carter<\/strong>, Brendan Coyle<\/strong>, Kevin Doyle<\/strong>, Joanne Froggatt<\/strong>, Matthew Goode<\/strong>, Harry Hadden-Paton<\/strong>, David Haig<\/strong>, Geraldine James<\/strong>, Simon Jones<\/strong>, Allen Leech<\/strong>, Phyllis Logan<\/strong>, Elizabeth McGovern<\/strong>, Sophie McShera<\/strong>, Tuppence Middleton<\/strong>, Stephen Campbell Moore<\/strong>, Lesley Nicol<\/strong>, Kate Phillips<\/strong>, Maggie Smith<\/strong>, Imelda Staunton<\/strong> and Penelope Wilton<\/strong> are part of the ensemble cast.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

Series creator Julian Fellowes<\/strong> wrote the script and is executive producer. Michael Engler<\/strong> directed. Gareth Neame<\/strong> and Liz Trubridge<\/strong> also produce.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

Over its six seasons on TV, Downton Abbey<\/em> was a crossover ratings hit, won three golden Globes, 15 Emmys and was nominated for 69 Emmys total.<\/p>\n
