News. As <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/1072705\/felicity-huffman-sentenced-to-14-days-in-prison-in-college-admissions-scandal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">part of her sentence<\/a>&nbsp;for committing mail fraud and honest services mail fraud, Huffman is now expected to&nbsp;serve one year of supervised release, complete 250 hours of community service and pay a $30,000 fine.<\/p>\n<p>While the actress was originally sentenced to serve 14 days, she was released early. If an inmate&#8217;s release date falls on a&nbsp;Saturday, Sunday or legal holiday, the Bureau of Prisons may release&nbsp;the inmate on the last preceding weekday\u2014unless it is necessary to detain the inmate for another jurisdiction seeking custody under a detainer or another necessary reason.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>More than five months ago, the Oscar nominee <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/1040960\/felicity-huffman-pleads-guilty-in-college-admissions-scandal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">plead guilty<\/a>&nbsp;to her involvement in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/1022747\/felicity-huffman-and-lori-loughlin-charged-in-college-admission-scandal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">nationwide, $25 million college admissions scheme<\/a>&nbsp;dubbed &#8220;Operation Varsity Blues&#8221; by the FBI. Among the dozens of individuals accused of fraudulently&nbsp;guaranteeing their children&#8217;s admission into&nbsp;elite universities and colleges, Huffman was the first to begin her prison sentence.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>At her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/1072705\/felicity-huffman-sentenced-to-14-days-in-prison-in-college-admissions-scandal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">sentencing hearing last month<\/a>, Huffman told the judge she&#8217;s taken &#8220;full responsibility&#8221; for paying $15,000 to&nbsp;<strong>Rick Singer<\/strong>, the scam&#8217;s ring leader, so a&nbsp;SAT proctor could administer her daughter&#8217;s exam and correct wrong answers.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"text-2\" data-hook=\"scrollable-block\" readability=\"60.974963181149\">\n<section data-textblock-tracking=\"text-block-text-only\" data-swiftype-index=\"false\" readability=\"16.324005891016\">\n<p>In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/1071185\/felicity-huffman-reveals-her-daughter-s-reaction-to-college-admissions-scandal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">a letter written by Huffman<\/a> and addressed to the judge, she wrote in part, &#8220;In my desperation to be a good mother I talked myself into believing that all I was doing was giving my daughter a fair shot. I see the irony in that statement now because what I have done is the opposite of fair. I have broken the law, deceived the educational community, betrayed my daughter, and failed my family.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>She&nbsp;concluded the letter by writing, &#8220;As painful as this has been, I am truly grateful for the lessons I have learned and for opportunity to change and live more honestly. The<em> Full House<\/em> star and her husband,&nbsp;<strong>Mossimo Giannulli<\/strong>, both&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/1032874\/why-lori-loughlin-pleaded-not-guilty-in-college-admissions-scandal-she-plans-to-fight\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">plead not guilty<\/a>&nbsp;to charges of fraud, money laundering and bribery.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Lori and Mossimo never wanted to accept a plea that involved jail time, but they are starting to feel their backs are against the wall and that its becoming too much,&#8221; a source recently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/1085693\/lori-loughlin-is-a-wreck-as-she-awaits-trial-in-college-admissions-scandal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">told E!
