Fashionistas, listen up: The 2020 Met Gala<\/strong> Committee has been announced.<\/p>\n

Next year, Emma Stone<\/a><\/strong> and Meryl Streep<\/a><\/strong> will be co-chairs at the coveted event. The A-listers will be joined by Hamilton<\/em>‘s Lin-Manuel Miranda<\/a><\/strong>, Louis Vuitton artistic director Nicolas Ghesqui\u00e8re<\/strong> and, of course, Anna Wintour<\/a><\/strong>. Fun fact: this actually marks Streep’s first Met Gala ever<\/em>!<\/p>\n

In addition to naming its new co-chairs, the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art also revealed the 150th annual Met Gala<\/a>‘s theme: About Time: Fashion and Duration.<\/p>\n

Speaking to The New York Times<\/a><\/em>, Costume Institute’s curator Andrew Bolton<\/strong> explained that the theme was inspired by several Virginia Woolf<\/strong> novels and theories of the early-20th-century French philosopher Henri Bergson<\/strong>, who believed time was more of an ever-evolving stream rather than a series of isolated moments. Using time as its guide, the exhibit will feature 160 pieces of women’s fashion that encompass the theme from the last 150 years.<\/p>\n

“I wanted to do an exhibition focused on the collection, but not a traditional masterworks exhibition,” Bolton said. “Something that connects to the zeitgeist, and what people are talking about now.”<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

“Fashion is indelibly connected to time,” he continued. “It not only reflects and represents the spirit of the times, but it also changes and develops with the times.”<\/p>\n

We’re excited to see how celebrities and designers interpret this vague-yet-pertinent theme. The possibilities are endless!<\/p>\n

Last year, stars like Jennifer Lopez<\/a><\/strong>, Kim Kardashian<\/a><\/strong>, Zendaya<\/a><\/strong> and more delivered memorable, head-turning looks for the 2019 Met Gala<\/a><\/strong>‘s Camp: Notes on Fashion theme<\/a>. The memorable night was co-hosted by Windsor, Harry Styles<\/a><\/strong>, Serena William<\/strong>, Lady Gaga<\/a><\/strong> and Gucci’s Creative Director Alessandro Michele<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
