Of all the boys we’ve loved before, Noah Centineo<\/strong> seems to be the humblest.<\/p>\n

Chatting with E!’s Jason Kennedy<\/a><\/strong> backstage at the 2019 People’s Choice Award<\/a>, the Internet’s boyfriend<\/a> couldn’t help but credit girlfriend Alexis Ren<\/strong> for keeping him grounded through all the madness that comes with fame. “Man, I keep my family really close,” he said after nabbing the trophy for Comedy Movie Star<\/a>. “I live with my sister and her boyfriend. It’s a really small circle, man\u2014my close friends and my girl. All of us hold it down for each other.”<\/p>\n

In fact, for the couple\u2014they made their red carpet debut<\/a> in late October\u2014nothing else matters when they have one another. “Dude, we love each other,” the 23-year-old gushed. “The rest just kind of fads into the background.”<\/p>\n

His modesty was a theme throughout the star-studded night, even as he limped up to the stage<\/a> to accept his coveted award. (He recently underwent knee surgery to fix a basketball injury and yet still managed to walk the red carpet <\/a>like a true pro.)<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

“I guess I’m funny,” he told the cheering crowd. “I didn’t know that.” <\/p>\n

“Thank you, this never gets easier, anyone watching at home,” the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before<\/em> star<\/a> continued. “It’s always so nerve-wracking, you’re like, ‘Uhhh, oh my God, people! And I’ve got to talk and I’ve got to say things!'”<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

As it turns out, he did indeed have plenty to say, especially when it came to thanking “everyone at home.”<\/p>\n

“You are the reason I’m on this stage, you are the reason I get to do what I am passionate about,” he raved. “You are the reason that I have a platform that I can help hopefully make the world a bit of a better place.”<\/p>\n

“And before I go I just want to say,” Centineo added, “it matters not what you’ve done, but what you do with what you’ve done for others.”<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n
