And while the cast included big names like <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/kristen_stewart\">Kristen Stewart<\/a><\/strong>, the flick only made $8.6 million on opening weekend.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday morning, the film&#8217;s writer and director <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/elizabeth_banks\">Elizabeth Banks<\/a><\/strong> reacted to the news by sharing a message on Twitter.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Well, if you&#8217;re going to have a flop, make sure your name is on it at least 4X,&#8221; she <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ElizabethBanks\/status\/1196486758503833600\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">wrote <\/a>to her followers. &#8220;I&#8217;m proud of #CharliesAngels and happy it&#8217;s in the world.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Before the movie even hit theaters, Elizabeth faced her fair share of critics who didn&#8217;t think another chapter in the <em>Charlie&#8217;s Angels<\/em> franchise was needed.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"text-2\" data-hook=\"scrollable-block\" readability=\"47.917721518987\">\n<section data-textblock-tracking=\"text-block-text-only\" data-swiftype-index=\"false\" readability=\"2.5443037974684\">\n<p>But in a recent profile for the <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/elizabeth-banks-charlies-angels-director-profile-11573754819\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">WSJ Magazine<\/a><\/em>, the actress had an epic response.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"photo-txt-3\" data-hook=\"scrollable-block\" readability=\"36.649842271293\">\n<div class=\"column post-content__image--left post-content__image\" data-swiftype-index=\"false\"> <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"image--full\" src=\"https:\/\/akns-images.eonline.com\/eol_images\/Entire_Site\/20191018\/rs_634x1024-191118114231-634-elizabeth-banks-mv-111819.jpg?fit=inside|900:auto&amp;output-quality=90\" title=\"Elizabeth Banks, Kristen Stewart, Charlie's Angels\" alt=\"Elizabeth Banks, Kristen Stewart, Charlie's Angels\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"image__credits\">Twitter <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<section data-textblock-tracking=\"text-block-photo-text\" readability=\"13.865814696486\">\n<p>&#8220;You&#8217;ve had 37 <em>Spider-Man<\/em> movies and you&#8217;re not complaining!&#8221; she shared with the outlet. &#8220;I think women are allowed to have one or two action franchises every 17 years\u2014I feel totally fine with that.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>One person who has nothing but rave reviews for Elizabeth&#8217;s work is Kristen. While speaking at the Will Rogers Motion Pictures Pioneers Foundation ceremony, the actress praised her co-worker for being an inspirational trailblazer.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m very proud to be here and to be her friend,&#8221; Kristen <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/1077332\/why-kristen-stewart-wanted-elizabeth-banks-to-be-her-boss-for-charlie-s-angels\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">shared<\/a>. &#8220;The best relationships are when you look at the person that decides to be around you often and you go, \u2018I am proud of that.'&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"text-4\" data-hook=\"scrollable-block\" readability=\"59.5\">\n<section data-textblock-tracking=\"text-block-text-only\" data-swiftype-index=\"false\" readability=\"9\">\n<p>The actress continued, &#8220;We&#8217;ve seen <em>Charlie&#8217;s Angels<\/em> before. The reason that we&#8217;re seeing it again is because she saw something in it that needed to be fresh and needed to be revitalized. It&#8217;s been a really long time since we&#8217;ve seen a few women really proactively at work and really at the forefront of the things, are really at the front of the action that&#8217;s being moved forward. Nothing happens to us in this movie.
