Ladies and gentlemen, award season is right around the corner!<\/p>\n

On Monday morning, the 2020 Golden Globes<\/a><\/strong> nominations were announced by Dakota Fanning<\/a><\/strong>, Susan Kelechi Watson<\/a><\/strong>and Tim Allen<\/strong> and, needless to say, the upcoming event will not disappoint. While Reese Witherspoon<\/a><\/strong> was nominated for The Morning Show<\/em> and Jennifer Lopez<\/a><\/strong> scored recognition for Hustlers<\/em>, Netflix’s Marriage Story<\/a><\/em> with six chances to take home a coveted trophy.<\/p>\n

Yes, the 77th annual show, which celebrates the best in TV and<\/em> film, is guaranteed to be a huge night<\/a>. After all, we may be gifted with a Friends <\/em>reunion<\/a>, hilarious jokes by host Rick Gervais<\/strong> and perhaps an encounter<\/a> between Jennifer Aniston<\/a><\/strong> and Brad Pitt<\/a><\/strong>. (She’s nominated for The Morning Show<\/em><\/a>, while his film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood<\/em><\/a> nabbed some serious recognition.)<\/p>\n

But beyond that, some of your favorite stars, shows and films are also set to break records and make history. (Think: Meryl Streep<\/a><\/strong>, Phoebe Waller-Bridge<\/strong> and<\/em> Billy Porter<\/a><\/strong>.)<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

DeMille Award.)<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

Streaming Services <\/h3>\n

Streaming services have dominated the nominations and now could very well sweep the awards. Netflix picked up 17 nominations, including nods for Marriage Story<\/em> and The Irishman<\/em>. (That’s double what the top studio scored.) Meanwhile, Amazon Prime earned recognition for The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel<\/em> and Fleabag<\/em> and Apple TV+ could nab a trophy for The Morning Show<\/em>. Together, they could prove the end is near for cable services and the box office.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
