Merry Christmas, ya filthy animals! <\/p>\n

E! News has confirmed that Disney+ has finally found its lead for the upcoming Home Alone<\/em> reboot on the streaming platform! According to reports, Jojo Rabbit <\/em>breakout star Archie Yates<\/strong> will be starring in the reboot of the classic film. <\/p>\n

Variety<\/em> also reports<\/a> that the young actor will “not be playing the iconic Kevin McCallister, but a new character in a similar premise to the original franchise.” <\/p>\n

As fans may recall, Macaulay Culkin<\/a><\/strong> played the role of McCallister in the original 1990 film. <\/p>\n

Further, the publication reports that Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt <\/em>actress Ellie Kemper<\/a><\/strong>and comedian Rob Delaney<\/strong> will also star alongside Yates. Although initially they were thought to play Yates’ parents in the Disney+ reboot, it looks like they might be playing different roles in the film. <\/p>\n

Back in August<\/a>, Disney CEO Bob Iger<\/strong> announced that Disney+ would be rebooting the 1990 film for the streaming service, per NBC News. The announcement was met with mixed feelings<\/a> on social media but many others are ready for the nostalgia and to relive Home Alone<\/em> even if in a different light. <\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

Disney+’s Home Alone<\/em> reboot will be directed by Dan Mazer<\/strong> and the script will be written by Mikey Day <\/strong>and Streeter Seidell.<\/strong> Mazer has previously directed Dirty Grandpa<\/em>, Bridget Jones’s Baby <\/em>and Borat. <\/em><\/p>\n

Aside from this Home Alone<\/em> reboot, Disney+ streamers can also anticipate reboots from other classics like Night at the Museum<\/em>, Diary of a Wimpy Kid<\/em> and Cheaper by the Dozen<\/em>.<\/p>\n

And of course, the highly anticipated Lizzie McGuire <\/em>reboot. <\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n
