Bill Cosby<\/a><\/strong> certainly doesn’t find Eddie Murphy<\/a><\/strong>‘s jokes funny.<\/p>\n

While making his triumphant return<\/a> to Saturday Night Live<\/em> this weekend, Murphy took a jab at the disgraced comedian<\/a>\u2014currently serving three to 10 years in prison<\/a> for sexual assault\u2014in his opening monologue<\/a>. “If you told me 30 years ago that I’d be this boring stay-at-home house dad and Bill Cosby would be in jail, even I wouldn’t have took that bet,” the dad of 10<\/a> began before mimicking Cosby’s notorious Cliff Huxtable voice, “Who is America’s dad now?”<\/p>\n

But Cosby’s team isn’t laughing along. Late Sunday evening, his publicist Andrew Wyatt<\/strong> took to Cosby’s Instagram<\/a> to respond to Murphy.<\/p>\n

“Mr. Cosby became the first Black to win an Emmy for his role in I Spy<\/em> and Mr. Cosby broke color barriers in the Entertainment Industry, so that Blacks like Eddie Murphy, Dave Chappell<\/strong>, Kevin Hart<\/a><\/strong> and et al., could have an opportunity to showcase their talents for many generations to come,” the message began. “It is sad that Mr. Murphy would take this glorious moment of returning to SNL<\/em> and make disparaging remarks against Mr. Cosby.”<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

Wyatt did not stop there, however.<\/p>\n

“One would think that Mr. Murphy was given his freedom to leave the plantation, so that he could make his own decisions; but he decided to sell himself back to being a Hollywood Slave,” he wrote. “Stepin Fetchit<\/strong> plus cooning equals the destruction of Black Men in Hollywood. Remember, Mr. Murphy, that Bill Cosby became legendary because he used comedy to humanize all races, religions and genders.”<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

“Your attacking Mr. Cosby helps you embark on just becoming click bait,” the note continued. “Hopefully, you will be amenable to having a meeting of the minds conversation, in order to discuss how we can use our collective platforms to enhance Black people rather than bringing all of us down “<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

Cosby and Murphy have often butt heads<\/a>. During his 1987 movie Eddie Murphy Raw<\/em>, the stand-up alleged that Cosby had scolded him for “being too dirty” on stage.<\/p>\n

More recently, in an episode of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee<\/em>, he opened up about their longstanding feud, explaining how Cosby would treat him differently than their fellow comics. “He wasn’t nice,” Murphy said. “He was shitty with me.” <\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n
