But it helps having this sweet angel taking care of you even when she&#8217;s risking getting this soul-crushing illness herself. All the soup, tea and delicious meals have kept me from crawling into a corner and crying the days away. Love you, babe. Thanks for putting up with my 5 am coughing fits&nbsp;@katybert&nbsp;#wcw.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"text-2\" data-hook=\"scrollable-block\" readability=\"62.932021466905\">\n<section data-textblock-tracking=\"text-block-text-only\" data-swiftype-index=\"false\" readability=\"16.84794275492\">\n<p>Aschoff joined ESPN in 2011, covering college football on television and for the outlet&#8217;s website. In 2016, he and his fellow reporter&nbsp;<strong>Adam Rittenberg<\/strong> won a Football Writers Association of America contest for&nbsp;their coverage on&nbsp;racial tension in the sport.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Ed Aschoff is one of the best people I know,&#8221; Rittenberg <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ESPNRittenberg\/status\/1209661983458578433\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">wrote<\/a>&nbsp;in tribute. &#8220;Talented, kind, fun, gracious and always positive. A great colleague and an even better friend. All of us are devastated and heartbroken. Just isn&#8217;t fair. I love you, Ed, and will miss you.
