If anyone can make a grand entrance, it’s the one and the only Queen Bey.<\/p>\n

To kick off the 2020 awards season and the 2020 Golden Globes<\/a>, Beyonc\u00e9<\/a><\/strong>made a fashionably late entrance alongside Jay-Z<\/strong> in an absolutely breathtaking gown. After skipping out on the red carpet, the world-famous performer snuck in to The Beverly Hilton’s ballroom just before the second hour of the show kicked off. <\/p>\n

The Texas-born singer channeled her inner Nala from The Lion King<\/em> in fitted black gown embellished with gold sleeves. <\/em><\/p>\n

After all, the 38-year-old, also known as Sasha Fierce, is nominated tonight for Best Original Song in a Motion Picture for her song “Spirit,” co-written by Queen B herself and Timothy McKenzie<\/strong> and Ilya Salmanzadeh<\/strong> from The Lion King<\/em>. <\/p>\n

In the past, the singer and actress has also been nominated for a Golden Globe in 2007 for her role in Dreamgirls <\/em>for Best Performance in a Musical or Comedy and that same year, her original song “Listen” for the same film was also nominated for an award.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

Later, at the start of the last decade in 2009, she was also nominated for Best Original Song, “Once In A Lifetime,” from the film Cadillac Records which she also starred in alongside Adrien Brody<\/a><\/strong>, Mos Def<\/strong>, Jeffrey Wright<\/strong> and Columbus Short<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

Tonight, however, could be the first night she gets to finally take home an award. <\/p>\n

Now, after accruing a whopping 23 Grammy Awards and being nominated for tonight’s Golden Globes, the multi-hyphenate is one step closer to adding an Oscar nod or win to her list.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

On Monday, Dec. 16, The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences announced shortlists<\/a> in consideration for the 92nd Academy Awards in nine categories, including Music (Original Score), Music (Original Song), among others.<\/p>\n

Of those categories, Queen B was nominated for her song “Spirit” and it’s also the only film with two songs on the list (“Never Too Late” written by Tim Rice<\/strong> and Elton John<\/a><\/strong> is also nominated in the same category for Original Song).<\/p>\n

As fans may recall, Beyonc\u00e9’s song “Spirit” was not only featured on The Lion Kin<\/em>g official soundtrack but also on her own album The Lion King: The Gift<\/em> which featured artists like Burna Boy<\/strong>, Donald Glover<\/a><\/strong> and her daughter Blue Ivy Carter<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Now, let’s wait and see if the “Brown Skin Girl” singer will be adding a Golden Globe to her mantel tonight! <\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n
