The Peacock<\/a> has hatched!<\/p>\n

On Thursday, NBC announced an impressive lineup of new shows set to premiered on the network’s new Peacock streaming service<\/a> (which will launch April 15 to Comcast Xfinity customers and debut nationally July 15 and have over 15,000 hours of TV and movies).<\/p>\n

NBC veteran Amy Poehler<\/a><\/strong> will produce the comedy Division One<\/em> about an underdog women’s collegiate soccer team that gets a new former pro soccer-playing female coach. Retired national women’s soccer player Abby Wambach<\/strong> is also among the executive producers.<\/p>\n

Mindy Kaling<\/a><\/strong> is also coming to Peacock. The former The Office<\/em> star is developing a comedy is called Expecting<\/em>, which centers on Ellie, a fiercely independent but perpetually single music manager who has always wanted a family but never found a man worthy of the role of “father.” When she reaches her 39th birthday, Ellie decides to ask her gay best friend and co-worker, Jonathan, if he’ll be her sperm donor.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Will Forte<\/strong> will reprise his hilarious SNL<\/em> character MacGruber for the comedy MacGruber<\/em> while Laverne Cox<\/a><\/strong> will star in a write for the comedy Clean Slate<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

Tina Fey<\/a><\/strong> will executive produce Girls5Eva<\/em>. “When a one-hit-wonder girl group from the 90s gets sampled by a young rapper, its members reunite to give their pop star dreams one more shot. They may be grown women balancing spouses, kids, jobs, debt, aging parents, and shoulder pain, but can\u2018t they also be Girls5Eva?” NBC describes the upcoming comedy.<\/p>\n

Jimmy Fallon<\/a><\/strong> will executive produce The Kids Tonight Show<\/em>, “The only late night talk show for kids, by kids,” and will feature, “Kids doing a monologue, kids playing games, and kids interviewing the biggest stars in the world.”<\/p>\n

Friends<\/em>‘ David Schwimmer<\/a><\/strong> will star in Intelligence<\/em>, “A workplace sitcom set in the UK’s Government Communications Headquarters.”<\/p>\n

Rashida Jones<\/a><\/strong> is developing Straight Talk, which “examines what happens when two opposing ideologies are forced into an odd coupling. The main characters will be challenged by one another, making the moral lines at which they once stood harder to define.”<\/p>\n

Also in development are Hatching Twitter<\/em>, the first installment of an investigative series on tech companies, and a Queer as Folk<\/em> reboot.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

Previously announced shows coming to Peacock include:<\/p>\n

A Saved By the Bell<\/em> reboot<\/a> starring Josie Totah<\/strong>. Totah will play cheerleader Lexi, the most popular girl at Bayside who is just as loved as she is feared by her classmates. The new Saved By the Bell<\/em> also features original series stars Mario Lopez<\/a><\/strong> and Elizabeth Berkley<\/a><\/strong> reprising their roles of A.C. Slater and Jessie Spano in the reboot. They’re also on board as producers. <\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

Punky Brewster<\/em> is also getting rebooted<\/a> for 10 episodes by UCP. Original star Soleil Moon Frye<\/strong> will reprise her role as a now a single mother of three, who meets a young girl who reminds her of her younger self. Freddie Prinze Jr.<\/a><\/strong> will guest star in the pilot as Punky’s ex-husband. “I am beyond thrilled and honored to be bringing Punky back! I’m grateful to our NBCUniversal Content Studios and Peacock family and to our incredible team of creators, writers, producers, cast and crew that have put their hearts into this journey every step of the way,” Soleil Moon Frye said in a statement today. “It is with great love for the amazing people who were such a pivotal part of creating the Punky magic that I will do my very best to honor their memory as we once again share Punky with the people that love her and a new generation discovering her for the first time. To our incredible fans who have stood by us, thank you for believing in me and I will do my best to make you proud. I love you. Punky Power forever!”
 
Emmy Rossum<\/a><\/strong> will star as infamous Hollywood icon Angelyne in the limited series Angelyne<\/em>.
 
Mr. Robot<\/em> creator Sam Esmail<\/strong> is rebooting Battlestar Galactica<\/em> in a straight-to-series order.
 
A.P. Bio<\/em> starring Glenn Howerton<\/strong> will return for a third season on Peacock.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

Peacock will be home to Rutherford Falls<\/em> from co-creators Ed Helms<\/a><\/strong>, Michael Schur<\/strong> and Sierra Ornelas<\/strong>. Helms stars as Nathan Rutherford, “the eponymous denizen of a small New England town, who is having difficulty facing the inevitable changes to his way of life.”
 
The drama Dr. Death<\/em>, based on a true crime podcast, will star Alec Baldwin<\/a><\/strong>, Jamie Dornan<\/a><\/strong> and Christian Slater<\/a><\/strong>.
 
Demi Moore<\/a><\/strong> will star in Brave New World<\/em> based on the dystopian novel by Aldous Huxley<\/strong>.
 
Who Wrote That<\/em> from Lorne Michaels<\/strong> is an unscripted offering on the new streaming platform that will take viewers behind the scenes of Saturday Night Live<\/em>.
 
A Real Housewives<\/em> spinoff in the works.<\/p>\n

Psych<\/em> will get its second spinoff movie.
 
Peacock will also be the exclusive home to The Office<\/em>, Parks and Recreation<\/em> and Dick Wolf<\/strong>‘s Law & Order<\/em> and Chicago<\/em> franchises on streaming. Other classic properties will include 30 Rock<\/em>, Bates Motel<\/em>, Brooklyn Nine-Nine<\/em>, Cheers<\/em>, Married\u2026With Children<\/em>, Monk<\/em>, SNL<\/em>, Will & Grace<\/em>, Friday Night Lights<\/em>, Downton Abbey<\/em>, The Real Housewives<\/em> franchise, Top Chef<\/em> and Keeping Up With the Kardashians<\/em>.<\/p>\n

As for movies, Peacock will offer over 600 films in its first year after launch. Peacock films will appeal to the entire household and include celebrated titles like Jurassic Park<\/em>, The Fast and the Furious<\/em>, E.T. the Extra Terrestrial<\/em>, Trolls World Tour<\/em>, The Croods<\/em>, and Shrek<\/em>.<\/p>\n
