Th\u00e9r\u00e8se Tanguay Dion<\/strong>, mother of Canadian singer C\u00e9line Dion<\/a><\/strong>, has died at the age of 92. <\/p>\n

Th\u00e9r\u00e8se is the mother of 14 children in total and was most commonly referred to as “Maman Dion,” by those who loved her most. “It is with sadness that I learned of the death of Th\u00e9r\u00e8se Tanguay Dion, Maman Dion, at the age of 92,” wrote Quebec Culture Minister Nathalie Roy<\/strong> on her Twitter account. “I offer my sincerest condolences to the family.”<\/p>\n

Th\u00e9r\u00e8se had been battling serioius health issues. Her death comes two days after the fourth anniversary of C\u00e9line’s husband<\/a>, Rene Angelil<\/strong>. Thursday was also the fourth anniversary of the death<\/a> of her brother Daniel’s death as well. C\u00e9line is currently on her Courage World Tour and, as of now, is scheduled to perform in Miami Friday and Saturday. Th\u00e9r\u00e8se was also very active in her daughter’s career and wrote the song Ce n’\u00e9tait qu’un r\u00eave, which was C\u00e9line’s first hit in 1981. <\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

 Quebec Premier Fran\u00e7ois Legault<\/strong> also tweeted out his condolences for the family<\/a>. “A remarkable woman, so generous, so loving, who devoted her whole life to the benefit of her family,” he wrote<\/a>. “Our big Qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois family mourns her passing.”<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n
