The 2020 Oscars<\/a> is right around the corner. While fans will have to wait until the big night to see who takes home the trophy, many are making a few last-minute predictions\u2014including The Academy.<\/p>\n

On Monday, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science’s official Twitter account shared a photo<\/a> of a card that read “My Oscar Predictions.” The image featured a number of categories, as well as picks for the winners. For instance, Parasite<\/em> was listed underneath the Best Picture category and 1917<\/em>‘s Sam Mendes<\/a><\/strong> was listed underneath the Best Directing category. Other predictions included Joaquin Phoenix<\/a><\/strong> winning Best Actor in a Leading Role for his performance in Joker<\/em> and Ren\u00e9e Zellweger<\/a><\/strong> winning Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performance in Judy<\/em>.<\/p>\n

While the tweet was deleted, it didn’t take long before it was resurfaced by followers.<\/p>\n

“Huge shout out to the messy social media manager that posted the academy’s Oscar ‘predictions,'” one social media user tweeted<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“omfg, did the academy just spoil the results?!” wrote another<\/a>. “lmaoooooooo amazing.”<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

But don’t change your ballots just yet! On Tuesday, The Academy made it clear it was just a social media snafu.<\/p>\n

“We invited fans on Twitter to make and share your #Oscars predictions. A ton of you already have!” The Academy’s official account tweeted. “A brief issue on Twitter made some of yours look like they came from our account. They didn’t. This error is now resolved. And we’ll reveal our picks on Sunday.”<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n
