Love is in the air, and so is our rom-com movie tournament!<\/p>\n

On Feb. 1, we launched our first-ever romantic comedy movie showdown to see which iconic love story is the best of all time.<\/p>\n

There were 36 films that entered the competition<\/a> and, after thousands of votes, the top 50% of films emerged and have made it to this round.<\/p>\n

We were sad to see some of our Netflix faves<\/a> like Someone Great <\/em>and Set It Up<\/em> go, and shocked that some pop culture fixtures like (500) Days of Summer<\/em> didn’t make the cut, but that’s just proof that you have to vote to keep your favorite in the game!<\/p>\n

In the top 18, it’s clear that nostalgia is driving a lot of votes<\/a>, with classics like Pretty Woman<\/em>, Sleepless in Seattle<\/em>, When Harry Met Sally <\/em>and more still in contention.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

However, a few newer flicks were very competitive, like 2018’s Crazy Rich Asians <\/em>and To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before<\/em>.<\/p>\n

In To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before<\/em>, also based on a popular book, that’s exactly what happens to Lara Jean after her younger sister mails out love letters Lara had written, but never mailed, to her crushes. Including one to her older sister’s ex.<\/p>\n

To avoid confronting him, Lara strikes up a fake relationship with Peter Kavinsky, another one of the letter recipients, but as their fake dating progresses, real feelings develop.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
