It’s almost time for the 2020 Oscars<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Hollywood’s biggest stars are set to gather at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday to celebrate the work of their peers. <\/p>\n

Joker<\/em> is the most-nominated film of the night<\/a> with a total of 11 nods. However, The Irishman<\/em>, 1917<\/em> and Once Upon a Time\u2026in Hollywood<\/em> follow closely behind with 10 nominations each.<\/p>\n

There are also a few first-time nominees this year<\/a>. Scarlett Johansson<\/a><\/strong> is one of them. In fact, she’s a contender in not one, but two categories. She’s up for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her work in Marriage Story<\/em> and Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her performance in Jojo Rabbit<\/em>. Cynthia Erivo<\/strong> is another first-time nominee. If she takes home the trophy, she’ll secure the highly coveted EGOT status<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Other nominees, however, have gone for Oscars gold before. Al Pacino<\/a><\/strong>, for instance, has been nominated a total of nine times throughout his career. He’s currently in the running for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for his performance in The Irishman<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

Whether they’re hoping to hear their name called for the first time or accepting another statuette, the nominees can expect the 92nd annual Academy Awards to be an unforgettable evening. So, let’s celebrate by taking a trip down memory lane and looking back at their first-ever Oscars appearance.<\/p>\n

By the time Pacino attended his first Academy Awards in 1974, he had already secured two Oscar nominations. That year, he was nominated for playing Frank Serpico in Serpico. <\/em>He had also received a nod for portraying Michael Corleone in The Godfather<\/em> in 1973. He’s now up for his ninth Oscar nomination for his performance in The Irishman<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

The Dr. Hannibal Lecter star ended up taking home the trophy in the Best Actor in a Leading Role category in 1992. He just received his fifth Oscar nomination for his performance in The Two Popes<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

The first time Hanks attended the Academy Awards was in 1987. While he wasn’t a nominee, he didn’t have to wait long to receive his first nod. He was nominated in the Best Actor in a Leading Role category for his performance in Big<\/em> in 1989. He just received his sixth Oscar nomination. He’s a contender in the Best Actor in a Supporting Role category for his portrayal of Fred Rogers<\/strong> in A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
