Alexa PenaVega<\/strong> and Carlos PenaVega<\/strong> are happily married screen partners and co-parents to two children. In this exclusive clip<\/a> from Thursday’s Daily Pop<\/em>, the couple shares wisdom about staying grounded, achieving work-life balance and maintaining a healthy relationship in the meantime.<\/p>\n

“We communicate,” says Carlos, who stars opposite his wife of six years in the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries network’s upcoming Picture Perfect Mysteries: Dead Over Diamonds<\/em>, premiering Sunday, Feb 16. “I know that seems so corny, but\u2026”<\/p>\n

“Communication is super key,” Alexa agrees, as is periodically stepping away from professional responsibilities to focus on family.<\/p>\n

“We disconnect from all the work stuff,” she continues, noting that their full-time Maui residence (when they aren’t filming) helps them do so. “When we’re working, we’re full-on working. But when we’re home\u2026It’s just us. It’s our family. We focus on each other and we take time with each other.”<\/p>\n

Being that she and Carlos were able to work on the Picture Perfect Mysteries <\/em>series together, Alexa calls their latest project “a blessing, for sure.”<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

As the two explain to Daily Pop<\/em>‘s Carissa Culiner<\/a><\/strong> and Justin Sylvester<\/a><\/strong> in Thursday’s clip, they brought both children along with them\u2014their youngest was still an infant at the time\u2014upon relocating to film during the latter half of 2019.<\/p>\n

“I think the hardest thing in this industry is, families get separated all the time because of work,” Alexa acknowledges. “We really try to keep each other just together as a unit.” So, when individual opportunities arise that would require both parents to leave home at the same time, the PenaVegas choose to pursue “one or the other.”<\/p>\n
