The cat’s out of the bag.<\/p>\n

Katy Perry<\/a><\/strong>and Orlando Bloom<\/a><\/strong>are expecting their first child and while they pulled off the ultimate reveal on Thursday<\/a>, their announcement to their family wasn’t as smooth. <\/p>\n

Of course, Katy and Orlando aren’t to blame for the “ruined” reveal. It turns out, Katy’s mom spoiled the surprise all on her own. She told SiriusXM’s Mikey Piff<\/strong>, “I actually kind of put the news on a wine label and I was doing it by either bringing a bottle of wine with a bespoke label that said it… I would bring it to a dinner or something or I’d give it as a gift to a friend, like here’s a nice bottle of wine, but then they’d get the reaction later.”<\/p>\n

However, she and her future husband didn’t have the opportunity to show off their “bespoke” label, because her mom snooped around a bit too much. “My mom, it was so weird, I didn’t get the chance to do it. She just came over and was looking at my wine\u2014and she never does\u2014and she was like, ‘What is this?’ And that’s how it happened.” <\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

Katy didn’t mind her mom “ruined” the reveal, though. She chalked it up to mother’s “intuition.”<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

In the same interview, she stated the pregnancy “wasn’t an accident.” Rather, she and Orlando had been planning this for quite some time, it just was a matter of “creating space” in the symbolic sense. “We’re both looking forward to this new interval of life and sharing this.”<\/p>\n

In the coming months she also plans to give birth to something else: new music. She teased on Instagram, “There’s a lot that will be happening this summer. Not only will I be giving birth, literally, but also figuratively to something you guys have been waiting for. So let’s just call it a double whammy. It’s a two-for.”<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n
