Andrew Cuomo<\/strong> has weighed in on a very important subject. <\/p>\n

As the governor of New York during a history-making pandemic, Cuomo would certainly be a large character in the movie that’s bound to be made about this moment. But, who should play him? While Brad Pitt<\/a><\/strong> has already taken the reins as<\/a> Dr. Anthony Fauci<\/strong>, screen legend Robert De Niro<\/a><\/strong> has raised his hand for his fellow Italian and New York native. <\/p>\n

“I guess I’ll play Cuomo,” he told Stephen Colbert <\/strong>on The Late Show<\/em> Wednesday night when asked which figure he might portray. “He’s doing a great job…he’s doing what any president should do.”<\/p>\n

Considering his high praise for the politician, Colbert checked in with Cuomo about it the following night. As to be expected, Cuomo gave De Niro his stamp of approval. <\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

“De Niro\u2014I am a big De Niro fan. He is just phenomenal,” he told Colbert. “The breadth of his ability\u2014just look at all the roles he’s played. He can do anything.”<\/p>\n

Cuomo proceeded to list off some of the star’s most famous roles, including Taxi Driver<\/em>. <\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

“I’m gonna do Taxi Driver<\/em> the next press conference when a reporter asks me a question\u2014’You talkin’ to me? You talkin’ to me?'” he quipped. <\/p>\n

And, if Cuomo wasn’t clear about his love of the actor, he reiterated, “I’m a big De Niro fan. He’s a genius.”<\/p>\n
