Soon after, Chrissy <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/1150019\/author-alison-roman-shades-chrissy-teigen-s-cooking-empire-that-horrifies-me\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">expressed how those words &#8220;hit [her] hard.<\/a>&#8220;<\/p>\n<p>While Alison <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/1150094\/author-alison-roman-apologizes-to-chrissy-teigen-after-receiving-major-backlash\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">apologized to the <em>Cravings<\/em> cookbook author<\/a>&nbsp;on Friday night, it looks like she&#8217;s still trying to make amends.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I need to formally apologize to Chrissy Teigen and Marie Kondo. I used their names disparagingly to try and distinguish myself, which I absolutely do not have an excuse for,&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/alisoneroman\/status\/1259990129629937671\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">her lengthy letter began<\/a>. &#8220;It was stupid, careless and insensitive.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I need to learn, and respect, the difference between being unfiltered vs. being uneducated and flippant,&#8221; her message continued. &#8220;The burden is not on them (or anyone else) to teach me, and I&#8217;m deeply sorry that my learning came at Chrissy and Marie&#8217;s expense.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"text-2\" data-hook=\"scrollable-block\" readability=\"61.5\">\n<section data-textblock-tracking=\"text-block-text-only\" data-swiftype-index=\"false\" readability=\"13\">\n<p>Alison explained&nbsp;she took some time to marinate on her interview and the reasoning behind some of her words.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Among the many uncomfortable things I&#8217;ve begun processing is the knowledge that my comments were rooted in my own insecurity,&#8221; she added. &#8220;My inability to appreciate my own success without comparing myself and knocking others down\u2014in this case two accomplished women\u2014is something I recognize I most definitely struggle with&#8230; I don&#8217;t want to be a person like that.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Dining In<\/em> author pointed out that she didn&#8217;t want to come across as a &#8220;victim&#8221; in this situation. She also acknowledged her &#8220;white privilege&#8221;&nbsp;and how her words towards Chrissy and Marie were problematic.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"text-4\" data-hook=\"scrollable-block\" readability=\"65.5\">\n<section data-textblock-tracking=\"text-block-text-only\" data-swiftype-index=\"false\" readability=\"21\">\n<p>&#8220;The fact that it didn&#8217;t occur to me that I had singled out two Asian women is one hundred percent a function of my privilege (being&nbsp;blind to racial insensitivities is a discriminatory luxury),&#8221; she explained.<\/p>\n<p>Adding, &#8220;I know that our culture frequently goes after women, especially women of color, and I&#8217;m ashamed to have contributed to that.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Not only did Alison express how much of a learning lesson this has been, she said her DMs are still open to more feedback.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;My apologies again to Marie and Chrissy,&#8221; her final note read. &#8220;I&#8217;m deeply embarrassed and I&#8217;m sorry to everyone I hurt with my insensitivity, especially to my friends and colleagues who are being held accountable for ignorance that was not their own.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"text-6\" data-hook=\"scrollable-block\" readability=\"60.98275862069\">\n<section data-textblock-tracking=\"text-block-text-only\" data-swiftype-index=\"false\" readability=\"19.551724137931\">\n<p>While Marie Kondo has yet to address Alison&#8217;s remarks, Chrissy recently shared that this has caused her to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/1150354\/chrissy-teigen-is-taking-a-little-break-from-social-media-amid-alison-roman-drama\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">take a social media break<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This is what always happens. The first day, a ton of support, then the next, 1 million reasons as to why you deserved this. It never fails,&#8221; the <em>Cravings<\/em> star wrote on Twitter over the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Shortly after people came to Chrissy&#8217;s defense, old tweets resurfaced online that <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=chrissy%20teigen&amp;src=recent_search_click\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">many considered problematic<\/a>.
