And now, members of Bachelor Nation are weighing in.<\/p>\n<p>During an Instagram live yesterday, the 25-year-old reality star dropped the slur while rapping along to DaBaby song &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=-1xBapFR_mk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Rockstar<\/a>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>As time&nbsp;progressed through the live broadcast, Brown began to notice criticism for using the word from fans in the comments.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I did? I&#8217;m so sorry&#8230;&#8221; Brown said. &#8220;I was singing the\u2014 I&#8217;m so sorry.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>At one point, she even suggested it may have been her brother,&nbsp;<strong>Patrick Brown<\/strong>.&nbsp; When viewers continued to confront her, Brown&nbsp;addressed it again.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I really don&#8217;t think I said that word,&#8221; she said. &#8220;I don&#8217;t think I said that word, but now I&#8217;m like, oh god. I&#8217;d never use that word. I&#8217;ve never called anybody that. We don&#8217;t say that word&#8230;.So, you know what, I&#8217;m going to stay here, and y&#8217;all can think I said whatever I did or think I&#8217;m something I&#8217;m not, but I&#8217;m not that.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"text-2\" data-hook=\"scrollable-block\" readability=\"63\">\n<section data-textblock-tracking=\"text-block-text-only\" data-swiftype-index=\"false\" readability=\"16\">\n<p>Former <em>The Bachelor&nbsp;<\/em>contestent Bekah Martinez took to her Instagram stories to address her anger with the situation.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;How are celebs still gonna defend CELEBS with access to SOOO much privilege, knowledge and education saying the N-word&#8230;even if it&#8217;s &#8220;just the lyrics to a song?&#8221; 25-year-old Martinez wrote in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>She continued: &#8220;Especially when that person had the wherewithal to skip over the F-word lyric first. We&#8217;ve GOT to hold people accountable to do better otherwise we&#8217;re continuing to prioritize the feeling of white people (and some we &#8220;stan&#8221;) over ending our country&#8217;s loooong history of casual racism and flippant anti-blackness.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Martinez then gave a bit of a history lesson, explaining the horrific implications of the word.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"photo-txt-3\" data-hook=\"scrollable-block\" readability=\"41\">\n<div class=\"column post-content__image--left post-content__image\" data-swiftype-index=\"false\"> <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"image--full\" src=\"https:\/\/akns-images.eonline.com\/eol_images\/Entire_Site\/2018515\/rs_1080x1920-180615161909-1080-raven-bekah.jpg?fit=inside|900:auto&amp;output-quality=90\" title=\"Raven Gates, Bekah Martinez \" alt=\"Raven Gates, Bekah Martinez \"><\/p>\n<p class=\"image__credits\">ABC<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<section data-textblock-tracking=\"text-block-photo-text\" readability=\"22\">\n<p>&#8220;And no. you can&#8217;t say the N-word just because black people say it,&#8221; she said. &#8220;Black people reclaimed the use of a word that was used for centuries to oppress and dehumanize them. It&#8217;s a word that holds so much historical weight that the black community is still healing from, and part of the white community are STILL weaponizing for dehumanization, particularly in the south.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;So no, it&#8217;s not cool to just sing along the lyrics of a song,&#8221; Martinez added. &#8220;Especially not ON YOUR PLATFORM WITH MILLIONS OF FOLLOWERS?!! smh. it&#8217;s 2020. at least make a legitimate apology and acknowledge your behavior.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Following her written statement, Martinez posted a follow-up video, saying, in part: &#8220;It&#8217;s also just upsetting to me when people don&#8217;t take the weight of their responsibility as someone with a lot of privilege and a lot of influence seriously and don&#8217;t take the time to care and acknowledge when they f**k up.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"photo-txt-4\" data-hook=\"scrollable-block\" readability=\"45.574933687003\">\n<div class=\"column post-content__image--left post-content__image\" data-swiftype-index=\"false\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"image--full\" src=\"https:\/\/akns-images.eonline.com\/eol_images\/Entire_Site\/2020417\/rs_508x1024-200517134111-634-matt-james.cm.51720.jpg?fit=inside|900:auto&amp;output-quality=90\" title=\"Matt James\" alt=\"Matt James\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"image__credits\">Instagram<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<section data-textblock-tracking=\"text-block-photo-text\" readability=\"32.334677419355\">\n<p>While he hasn&#8217;t addressed the controversy directly, fans believe that <strong>Matt James<\/strong>, <strong>Tyler Cameron<\/strong>&#8216;s best friend and member of the &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/1139087\/tyler-cameron-says-a-stranger-showed-up-at-his-house-wanting-to-join-his-quarantine-crew?query=quarantine%20crew\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Quarantine Crew<\/a>,&#8221; has indirectly addressed the situation on Instagram.<\/p>\n<p>Today, James posted an Instagram story of himself getting ready for a run, with the text, &#8220;Let&#8217;s spread love today.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The photo also featured the text, &#8220;John 8:7,&#8221; a reference to a bible verse, positioned next to a bee emoji.<\/p>\n<p>The bible verse in question, reads, in part, &#8220;So when they continued asking [Jesus], he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>At one point, Hannah Brown was partying with the Quarantine Crew down in Florida, but has since relocated back to Alabama.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"text-5\" data-hook=\"scrollable-block\" readability=\"55.603305785124\">\n<section data-textblock-tracking=\"text-block-text-only\" data-swiftype-index=\"false\" readability=\"5.7520661157025\">\n<p><em>The Bachelor&nbsp;<\/em>alum <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/nick_viall\">Nick Viall<\/a><\/strong> also chimed in on the situation.&nbsp;On Instagram Stories,&nbsp;Viall said he plans to process Hannah&#8217;s actions before truly giving a statement, but shares his &#8220;initial thought is that it&#8217;s deeply disappointing to see.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/1152904\/bachelor-nation-stars-react-to-hannah-brown-saying-the-n-word?cmpid=rss-000000-rssfeed-365-topstories&#038;utm_source=eonline&#038;utm_medium=rssfeeds&#038;utm_campaign=rss_topstories\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">via:: E!
