The death of George Floyd<\/strong> at the hands of the Minneapolis Police Department has sparked outrage across America<\/a> \u2014 and some celebrities are taking to the streets to participate in protest.<\/p>\n

At a Minneapolis press conference<\/a> yesterday, actor Jamie Foxx<\/a><\/strong> spoke to the crowd.<\/p>\n

“I think that what you saw on television, to watch this man plead for his life,” Foxx said. “As I sit with my two daughters, my nephews … what it does is, it over-complicates everything as a black man trying to tell his son or his daughter how to function in life. Even the things that we’ve taught them don’t seem to work.”<\/p>\n

Foxx went on to compare the disparity in the use of force used to arrest white people and black people. He referenced the non-violent arrest of Dylann Roof<\/strong>, who killed nine members of a black church in 2015.<\/p>\n

The actor also shared a 22-minute video from a peaceful protest to his Instagram<\/a>, with the caption: “George Floyd, can not describe how much pain… power and love is here in Minneapolis… change Gon come… #changecourse.”<\/p>\n

Nick Cannon<\/a><\/strong> was also on location in Minneapolis yesterday, also sharing the moment on Instagram<\/a>, where he’s seen holding a poster that reads “Justice for Floyd.”<\/p>\n

Although the officer who was filmed kneeling on Floyd’s neck, Derek Chavin<\/strong>, <\/strong>has been fired, arrested and charged with murder<\/a>, many continue to protest for the arrest of the three other involved officers \u2014 and the history of racial injustice in America.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

Real Housewives of Atlanta<\/em> star Porsha <\/strong>Williams<\/strong> took to the streets of Atlanta yesterday to join a Black Lives Matter protest, sharing photos and videos as she marched and chanted in solidarity.<\/p>\n

“We stand together,” Williams wrote on Instagram, with a slew of hashtags: #PEACEFULProtestEarlier, #BlackLivesMatter, #HoseaWilliam,s #Legacy, #NoJusticeNoPeace, #WeCantBreathe, #ThisWhatAmericaLooksLike, #GodHelpUs, #WeJustWantToLive, #SayTheirNames, #Action, #Atlanta.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

Singer Tinashe<\/a><\/strong>also shared her day of protest, stepping into Downtown Los Angeles with a Black Lives Matter sign in hand, taking both to the streets and the freeway.<\/p>\n

In her stories, she posted shots of protesters climbing the divider of a freeway. She also shared photos from the intersection of 5th Street and Grand Avenue, showing a heavy presence of police in riot gear.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

On Twitter, Tinashe explained her participation in the movement succinctly.<\/p>\n

“The protest I participated in yesterday in DTLA was non violent,” she wrote. “We were there to protest police brutality and black lives, period.”<\/p>\n

On Saturday, more protests continued throughout the U.S.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n
