Fox giveth and Fox taketh away.<\/p>\n

As the network begins to develop its new brand following Disney’s acquisition of 21st Century Fox, the network already handed out series orders to quite a few projects\u2014and pulled the plug on two freshman shows.<\/p>\n

The Passage<\/em>, based on the popular book of the same name by Justin Cronin, will not return for a second season. The series starred Mark-Paul Gosselaar<\/a><\/strong>, Saniyya Sidney<\/strong>, Henry Ian Cusick<\/strong>, Jamie McShane<\/strong>, Caroline Chikezie<\/strong>, Emmanuelle Chriqui<\/a><\/strong>, Brianne Howey<\/strong>, McKinley Belcher III<\/strong> and Vincent Piazza<\/strong>. Its ratings were stable throughout the 10-episode first season.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

Joining The Passage<\/em> in the canceled TV show graveyard is sitcom The Cool Kids<\/em>. The multi-camera series followed residents of a retirement community and starred David Alan Grier<\/strong>, Martin Mull<\/strong>, Leslie Jordan<\/strong> and Vicki Lawrence<\/strong>. The series finale airs May 10.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

Fox’s new shows include Deputy<\/em> starring Stephen Dorff<\/strong>, neXt<\/em> starring John Slattery<\/strong>, Prodigal Son<\/em> starring Tom Payne<\/strong>, Michael Sheen<\/a><\/strong> and Bellamy Young<\/strong>, a new drama starring Brittany Snow<\/a><\/strong>, Outmatched<\/em> starring Jason Biggs<\/a><\/strong> and Maggie Lawson<\/strong>, and cartoon The Great North<\/em>.<\/p>\n
