The walk will be on June 8.<\/strong><br \/><em>Joe Vandal \/ Courtesy of Breckenridge Grand Vacations<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Volunteers are being sought for the fourth Annual Rob Millisor Heart Health Walk, a family-friendly event that supports heart health programs, education and research.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">The walk will be on June 8, a Saturday, at Carter Park in Breckenridge and is being organized by BGV Gives, the philanthropic wing of Breckenridge Grand Vacations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">The heart walk was started in 2016 to honor BGV\u2019s former owner and developer, Rob Millisor, who died when he suffered a heart attack during a humanitarian trip to Nepal in 2015.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Volunteer shifts are available for June 7 and June 8, as event\u2019s organizers are looking to fill slots including for set-up, all-day event floaters, registration, course marshals, cleanup and unloading trucks back to storage at the end of the event.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">\u201cIt is important to have an attitude of gratitude and lend a helping hand when needed, that\u2019s the true foundation of a strong community,\u201d said Asa Armstrong, who\u2019s been volunteering for the event since its first year, in a news release. \u201cThe Rob Millisor Heart Health Walk is a light-hearted way to bring attention to the importance of taking care of yourself and your loved ones. For me and my friends, \u2018The A-Team,\u2019 volunteering for The Rob Millisor Heart Health Walk has become a tradition and we love every minute of it, from honoring Rob to rolling up our sleeves in support of a great cause.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">The fourth annual Rob Millisor Heart Health Walk will include a 5k trail run, 5k trail walk and a 1-mile town walk.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">All participants will get morning snacks and a heart-healthy lunch, along with a gift bag containing an event T-shirt and commemorative gifts. There will be live entertainment and prize giveaways, including a chance to win a seven-night vacation with Interval International.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Heart health booths and children\u2019s activities will also be offered during the event.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">\u201cVolunteers are the heart and soul of any nonprofit organization and special event,\u201d said Deb Edwards, BGV Gives program manager. \u201cThe help and support from volunteers is critical to our local organizations who provide so many important services and programs that make Summit County a great place to live, work and play for residents and guests alike. The heart health benefits of volunteering are an added bonus. Not only are you helping a great cause; but volunteering makes you happy, connects you to the community, contributes to a longer life and gives you a sense of purpose.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Local resident George Connolly agrees.
