{"id":23580,"date":"2019-05-13T10:22:33","date_gmt":"2019-05-13T16:22:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.summitdaily.com\/?p=365865"},"modified":"2019-05-13T10:22:33","modified_gmt":"2019-05-13T16:22:33","slug":"colorado-joins-lawsuit-alleging-generic-drug-manufacturers-conspired-to-inflate-prices","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/kift\/local-news\/colorado-joins-lawsuit-alleging-generic-drug-manufacturers-conspired-to-inflate-prices\/","title":{"rendered":"Colorado joins lawsuit alleging generic drug manufacturers conspired to inflate prices"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Colorado is one of&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.denverpost.com\/2019\/05\/11\/teva-pharmaceuticals-lawsuit-price-fixing-drugs\/\" target=\"_blank\">44 states that filed a lawsuit Friday against generic drug manufacturers<\/a>&nbsp;alleging they violated state and federal laws by conspiring to fix prices and stop competitors, resulting in generic drug costs significantly going up.<\/p>\n<p>The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court in Connecticut, alleges that 20 pharmaceutical companies \u2014 including Teva Pharmaceutical, Sandoz, Mylan and Pfizer \u2014 \u201cembarked on one of the most egregious and damaging price-fixing conspiracies in the history of the United States.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Teva and other companies raised prices between July 2013 and January 2015 on about 112 generic drugs \u2014 some with price increases of more than 1,000 percent, according to the complaint.
