But whatever you do, do not call her a &#8220;bombshell.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I hate that word. I hate it\u2014<em>so much<\/em>,&#8221; she told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vogue.com\/article\/margot-robbie-cover-july-2019\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Vogue<\/em><\/a> for its July cover story. &#8220;I feel like a brat saying that because there are worse things, but I&#8217;m not a bombshell. I&#8217;m not someone who walks in a room and the record stops and people turn like, &#8216;Look at that&nbsp;<em>woman<\/em>.&#8217; That doesn&#8217;t happen. People who know me, if they had to sum me up in one word I don&#8217;t know what that word would be, but I&#8217;m certain it would not be&nbsp;<em>bombshell<\/em>.&#8221;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps the best way to describe Robbie is the way <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/nicole_kidman\">Nicole Kidman<\/a><\/strong> did in the piece\u2014a &#8220;powerhouse.&#8221; Not only is she set to appear in several highly anticipated new films\u2014including <em>Once Upon a Time in Hollywood<\/em> and <em>Birds of Prey<\/em>\u2014but she also has her own production company, Luckychap, which she founded with her husband <strong>Tom Ackerly<\/strong>, her childhood friend <strong>Sophia Kerr<\/strong> and director <strong>Josey McNamara<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>One of her company&#8217;s main missions is to promote projects by women.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;My love and passion for female filmmakers doesn&#8217;t mean I suddenly don&#8217;t like male-driven films,&#8221; she told the magazine. &#8220;And that&#8217;s an important argument to make\u2014so that men go see films about women, by women. If it&#8217;s a good film, they&#8217;ll be able to relate.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"text-2\" data-hook=\"scrollable-block\" readability=\"56.256436663234\">\n<section data-textblock-tracking=\"text-block-text-only\" data-swiftype-index=\"false\" readability=\"13.501544799176\">\n<p>So, some may have been surprised when she decided act in <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/quentin_tarantino\">Quentin Tarantino<\/a><\/strong>&#8216;s <em>Once Upon a Time in Hollywood<\/em>. The movie is his first film not produced by <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/harvey_weinstein\">Harvey Weinstein<\/a><\/strong>. It also comes about a year after <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/uma_thurman\">Uma Thurman<\/a><\/strong> publicly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/911405\/uma-thurman-says-harvey-weinstein-assaulted-her-years-ago-he-denies-it\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">accused<\/a> Weinstein of assault in a <em>New York Times<\/em> article, noting she had told Tarantino about it and that he had later confronted the producer. Around this time, Thurman had also shared footage from a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/911771\/uma-thurman-shares-dramatic-footage-from-kill-bill-stunt-gone-wrong\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">car crash<\/a> she was in on the set of <em>Kill Bill<\/em>. The actress claimed she had insisted on using a stunt double but that her request was denied. She also alleged there had been attempts to &#8220;cover up&#8221; and &#8220;suppress&#8221; the accident.<\/p>\n<p>Weinstein claimed he apologized to Thurman for &#8220;making an awkward pass 25 years ago&#8221; but called her physical assault allegations &#8220;untrue.&#8221; As for Tarantino, who has not been accused of sexual misconduct, the director eventually gave Thurman the footage from the crash and called it &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/911852\/quentin-tarantino-breaks-silence-after-uma-thurman-shares-kill-bill-crash-footage\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">one of the biggest regrets of my life<\/a>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"photo-txt-3\" data-hook=\"scrollable-block\" readability=\"43.5\">\n<div class=\"column post-content__image--left post-content__image\" data-swiftype-index=\"false\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"image--full\" src=\"https:\/\/akns-images.eonline.com\/eol_images\/Entire_Site\/201956\/rs_634x862-190606092047-634-margot-emd-060419.jpg?fit=inside|900:auto&amp;output-quality=90\" title=\"Margot Robbie\" alt=\"Margot Robbie\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"image__credits\">Inez &amp; Vinoodh for <em>Vogue<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<section data-textblock-tracking=\"text-block-photo-text\" readability=\"27\">\n<p>So, how does Robbie feel people will perceive her partnership with Tarantino?&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Will people view this decision as conflicting with what I&#8217;m doing on the producing side? I don&#8217;t know,&#8221; she told <em>Vogue<\/em>. &#8220;I don&#8217;t know how to say what I feel about it, because I&#8217;m so grateful to be in a position of power and to have more creative control when that is embraced and encouraged now. At the same time, I grew up adoring movies that were the result of the previous version of Hollywood, and aspiring to be a part of it, so to have those dreams come true also feels incredibly satisfying. I don&#8217;t know. Maybe I&#8217;m having my cake and eating it too\u2026.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>She later added, &#8220;It would be easier, and so much more unfulfilling,&nbsp;<em>not<\/em>&nbsp;to have a production company. To not hire first- and second-time female directors, and stake millions of other people&#8217;s money, and put my name to it and everything I&#8217;ve worked for, but I&#8217;ve made the choice to do it, and I don&#8217;t regret it.
