The campaign’s goal is to increase the pace and scale of improvements to sustainable recreation opportunities on Colorado’s 14ers. Quandary was considered a priority area due to very high use that was degrading the trail as well as Forest Service budget cuts forcing prioritization of funds elsewhere.

To celebrate, an organized hike will take place June 21. A shuttle will pick up hikers at the Breckenridge Satellite Parking Lot at the far end of Airport Road. For those hiking to the summit, there will be a shuttle available in Breckenridge at 6 a.m. Those seeking to hike partway can take a shuttle at 9 a.m. Shuttle and hiking details will be sent to those who RSVP at NationalForests.org/get-involved/events/quandary-peak-celebration.

Following the hike, or for those who just want to party, there will be a celebration at 2 p.m. at Broken Compass Brewery, 68 Continental Court, in Breckenridge.

via:: Summit Daily

Hikers walk along the main trail to Summit County’s Quandary Peak, August 2017.
