That exercise was especially interesting for me because I had the privilege in 2013 of visiting Angola with The Halo Trust. In Cuando Cubango\u2014in the far southeast of what is a vast, beautiful country\u2014I saw a struggling community in a deserted landscape unable to make us of the land, yet the potential to turn his land into a sustainable source for its people.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"text-2\" data-hook=\"scrollable-block\" readability=\"55.184210526316\">\n<section data-textblock-tracking=\"text-block-text-only\" data-swiftype-index=\"false\" readability=\"6.6032388663968\">\n<p>He also remembered <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/princess_diana\">Princess Diana<\/a><\/strong>&#8216;s famous walk through Angola&#8217;s active minefields in 1997.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In fact, I was told just the other day of the positive transformation in Huambo since my mother walked that minefield all those years ago,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"block-3-img\" data-hook=\"scrollable-block\" data-swiftype-index=\"false\" readability=\"31\">\n<div class=\"post-content__image\" readability=\"32\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"image--full\" src=\"https:\/\/akns-images.eonline.com\/eol_images\/Entire_Site\/2019517\/rs_1024x759-190617072631-1024x759-princessdiana-gj-6-17-19.jpg?fit=inside|900:auto&amp;output-quality=90\" border=\"0\" title=\"Princess Diana \" alt=\"Princess Diana \" data-width=\"1024\" data-height=\"759\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"image__credits\">Tim Graham Photo Library via Getty Images<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"photo-txt-3\" data-hook=\"scrollable-block\" readability=\"30.89497716895\">\n<section data-textblock-tracking=\"text-block-photo-text\" readability=\"7.2694063926941\">\n<p>The Princess of Wales has often been credited with raising awareness for an international treaty against landmines through the walk. The treaty was signed shortly after her death.<\/p>\n<p>There have been rumors that Harry is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/1048898\/everything-we-know-about-prince-harry-and-meghan-markle-s-trip-to-africa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">planning on visiting Africa<\/a> with&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/meghan_markle\">Meghan Markle<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;later this year and that Angola would be one of their stops.
