“[The Hills<\/em> Getting Cancelled] Was Our 9\/11.”<\/p>\n

Heidi, Lauren’s BFF-turned-arch-nemesis (“You know what you did!”), and Spencer, one of reality TV’s most infamous villains, have openly admitted to struggling after the show ended.<\/p>\n

“I had lost my family. I just had all these procedures done. Like, I was in a hard place,” Heidi, 32, said on Good Morning America<\/em>, adding she felt pressure to play a character on The Hills<\/em>, referencing her infamous and near-fatal plastic surgery marathon (10 procedures in one day) and her mom’s shocking reaction.<\/p>\n

“It was kinda this back and forth like, ‘Oh, we have to play the characters,'” she explained. “We’re being on the show, and then we kind of became those characters, and it was a very challenging time for us.”<\/p>\n

And Spencer, 35, admitted to Vice<\/em> in 2017, “I got caught up trying to be someone I’m not\u2014someone that the audience and the producers wanted. I was just being more and more unnatural.”<\/p>\n

Still, Speidi has managed to defy the odds, recently celebrating their 10 year wedding anniversary after welcoming their first child, Gunner Stone Pratt<\/strong>, in October 2017. ($27,000 worth of crystals adorned the delivery room and a makeup artist was on hand applying concealer between contractions when Heidi gave birth. “I was like, ‘Just get it on as fast as you can,'” she recalled to Us Weekly<\/em><\/a>.)<\/p>\n

“I’ve always wanted a family. I’ve been with Spencer for 11 years now, so I told him, ‘You had me alone for 10 straight years,'” Heidi said of the couple deciding to have a baby. “We have a great marriage, and it was the perfect time for us to move into this next chapter.”<\/p>\n

After blowing all of the millions they made during the show’s prime on healing crystals (he once spent $65,000<\/a> on a single crystal) and Heidi’s attempt at a music career, the couple rebounded with appearances on reality shows, including heading to Celebrity Big Brother,<\/em> becoming two of the biggest reality stars in the UK in the process. They now host a hit podcast together, Make Speidi Famous Again<\/em>, and Spencer was named Snapchatter of the Year at the 2018 Shorty Awards. (And yes, he still sells crystals<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

Despite the highs and lows and turmoil caused by the show, the couple was more than ready for the revival, with Heidi once telling E! News, ” “Spencer’s been trying to get The Hills<\/em> reboot since it ended!” <\/p>\n
