And, while the public has watched on with endless curiosity and concern over the superstar, the 26-year-old has been one to pour out her heart in melody rather than on the page or screen.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>However, as <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vogue.com\/article\/ariana-grande-cover-august-2019\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Vogue<\/a><\/em>&#8216;s August 2019 issue cover star, the songstress revisited those monumental moments in an interview for the issue, though as she acknowledged to the magazine,&nbsp;&#8220;I&#8217;m a person who&#8217;s been through a lot and doesn&#8217;t know what to say about any of it to myself, let alone the world.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"text-2\" data-hook=\"scrollable-block\" readability=\"65.674725274725\">\n<section data-textblock-tracking=\"text-block-text-only\" data-swiftype-index=\"false\" readability=\"23.525274725275\">\n<p>The star candidly continued, &#8220;I see myself onstage as this perfectly polished, great-at-my-job entertainer, and then in situations like this I&#8217;m just this little basket-case puddle of figuring it out&#8230;I have to be the luckiest girl in the world, and the unluckiest, for sure.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Grande elaborated, &#8220;I&#8217;m walking this fine line between healing myself and not letting the things that I&#8217;ve gone through be picked at before I&#8217;m ready, and also celebrating the beautiful things that have happened in my life and not feeling scared that they&#8217;ll be taken away from me because trauma tells me that they will be, you know what I mean?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Some trauma she&#8217;s less inclined to talk about, including that of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/856168\/manchester-arena-explosion-at-least-19-confirmed-dead-50-injured-as-police-treat-situation-as-terrorist-incident\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Manchester Bombing<\/a>. &#8220;It&#8217;s not my trauma,&#8221; she told <em>Vogue<\/em>. &#8220;It&#8217;s those families&#8217;. It&#8217;s their losses, and so it&#8217;s hard to just let it all out without thinking about them reading this and reopening the memory for them.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"photo-txt-3\" data-hook=\"scrollable-block\" readability=\"38.823529411765\">\n<section data-textblock-tracking=\"text-block-photo-text\" readability=\"22.18487394958\">\n<p>&nbsp;Grande explained, &#8220;I&#8217;m proud that we were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/858896\/one-love-manchester-benefit-concert-recap-ariana-grande-leading-emotional-show\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">able to raise a lot of money<\/a> with the intention of giving people a feeling of love or unity, but at the end of the day, it didn&#8217;t bring anyone back. Everyone was like, Wow, look at this amazing thing, and I was like, What the f&#8211;k are you guys talking about? We did the best we could, but on a totally real level we did nothing. I&#8217;m sorry. I have a lot to say that could probably help people that I do want to share, but I have a lot that I still need to process myself and will probably never be ready to talk about.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>As she told the magazine, the star used work to avoid focusing on reality. Such was the case <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/966506\/mac-miller-dead-at-26\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">after 26-year-old Miller<\/a>&#8216;s untimely passing, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/983766\/mac-miller-s-cause-of-death-revealed-alcohol-cocaine-and-fentanyl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">later revealed to be<\/a> the result of accidental&nbsp;mixed drug toxicity. &#8220;My friends know how much solace music brings me, so I think it was an all-around, let&#8217;s-get-her-there type situation,&#8221; she said of going to a recording studio close to her apartment.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"text-4\" data-hook=\"scrollable-block\" readability=\"62.5\">\n<section data-textblock-tracking=\"text-block-text-only\" data-swiftype-index=\"false\" readability=\"15\">\n<p>&#8220;But if I&#8217;m completely honest, I don&#8217;t remember those months of my life because I was (a) so drunk and (b) so sad. I don&#8217;t really remember how it started or how it finished, or how all of a sudden there were 10 songs on the board,&#8221; Grande told Vogue.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I think that this is the first album and also the first year of my life where I&#8217;m realizing that I can no longer put off spending time with myself, just as me. I&#8217;ve been boo&#8217;d up my entire adult life. I&#8217;ve always had someone to say goodnight to. So <em>Thank U, Next<\/em> was this moment of self-realization. It was this scary moment of \u2018Wow, you have to face all this stuff now. No more distractions. You have to heal all this s&#8211;t.'&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"text-6\" data-hook=\"scrollable-block\" readability=\"64.570093457944\">\n<section data-textblock-tracking=\"text-block-text-only\" data-swiftype-index=\"false\" readability=\"28.392523364486\">\n<p>After <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/934042\/ariana-grande-and-mac-miller-break-up\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">calling it quits<\/a>&nbsp;with Miller in the spring of 2018, fans were shocked to learn she had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/943196\/surprise-ariana-grande-and-pete-davidson-are-engaged\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">gotten engaged to&nbsp;<em>SNL&nbsp;<\/em>comedian<\/a>&nbsp;<strong>Pete Davidson<\/strong>.&nbsp;&#8220;My friends were like, \u2018Come! We&#8217;re gonna have a fun summer.&#8217; And then I met Pete, and it was an amazing distraction,&#8221; she told <em>Vogue<\/em>. &#8220;It was frivolous and fun and insane and highly unrealistic, and I loved him, and I didn&#8217;t know him. I&#8217;m like an infant when it comes to real life and this old soul, been-around-the-block-a-million-times artist. I still don&#8217;t trust myself with the life stuff.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The pair <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/977003\/ariana-grande-and-pete-davidson-break-up-and-call-off-engagement\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">called off their engagement<\/a> and split a month after Miller&#8217;s death. The performer later sang about, in her words, &#8220;feeling badly for the person you&#8217;re with because you love somebody else&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/1012829\/ariana-grande-s-thank-u-next-album-decoded-pete-davidson-mac-miller-and-more\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">on her track &#8220;Ghostin.'&#8221;<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s pretty all-consuming,&#8221; she told <em>Vogue<\/em>&nbsp;about her&nbsp;grief over the late rapper. &#8220;By no means was what we had perfect, but, like, f&#8211;k. He was the best person ever, and he didn&#8217;t deserve the demons he had. I was the glue for such a long time, and I found myself becoming&#8230;less and less sticky.
