Colorado Parks and Wildlife is exploring opportunities to open new state parks and is inviting public comment on what people want to see and experience at future parks. <\/p>\n

In 2018, Colorado lawmakers passed the Future Generations Act, calling on Parks and Wildlife to plan for development of new state parks.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The draft criteria, listed below, offer broad characteristics to evaluate properties in order to ensure they achieve this vision. <\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Natural resource value and conservation\u00a0
\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Meets Colorado\u2019s needs

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Financial sustainability<\/p>\n

For a more detailed description of each of these proposed criteria and an opportunity to provide comments, go to CPW.state.co.us\/futurestateparks<\/a>. The public comment period is open until Aug. 15.<\/p>\n
