Viola Davis<\/a><\/strong> attended the premiere of The Angry Birds Movie 2<\/em> on Saturday but the real star of the red carpet was her daughter, Genesis Tennon<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The 9-year-old is also a star in the movie itself; Genesis provides the voice of the character Vivi, a hatchling, in what marks her first credited acting role.<\/p>\n

In addition to Viola, the Oscar and Emmy winner’s husband Julian Tennon<\/strong> also accompanied Genesis at the film’s premiere in Los Angeles. Neither he nor his wife are featured themselves in the movie.<\/p>\n

When asked if her mom gave her some pro tips, Genesis told E! News, “She said, ‘No matter people say, to keep moving forward.’ And I’m gonna take that advice.”<\/p>\n

Viola, who turned 54 on Sunday, had praised Genesis’ work on the film on Twitter<\/a> last week.<\/p>\n

The child previously was cast in a small part in the 2014 James Brown<\/strong> biopic Get On Up<\/em>, which featured Viola in a major role and Julius, 65, in a minor one.<\/p>\n

When asked if she wants to continue pursing the craft, Genesis said, “Maybe.” <\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

Other celebrity guests at the Angry Birds Movie 2<\/em> premiere included fellow cast members JoJo Siwa<\/strong>, Rachel Bloom<\/strong>, Dove Cameron<\/a><\/strong>, and SNL<\/em>‘s Leslie Jones<\/a><\/strong> and Beck Beckett<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

Fellow co-stars Sterling K. Brown<\/a><\/strong> and Josh Gad<\/a><\/strong> also made the premiere a family affair; the former actor brought along his wife and one of their sons, while the latter arrived with his wife and two daughters.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

The Angry Birds Movie 2<\/em> is set for release on Wednesday, August 14.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n
