Sony Pictures is about to give fans a new take on a classic story.<\/p>\n

The studio released its trailer for Little Women<\/em> on Tuesday, and viewers are sure to recognize a few familiar faces. Saoirse Ronan<\/a><\/strong>, Emma Watson<\/a><\/strong>, Florence Pugh<\/strong> and Eliza Scanlen<\/strong> play the four sisters\u2014taking on the roles of Jo March, Meg March, Amy March and Beth March, respectively. However, they aren’t the only celebrities in the cast. Meryl Streep<\/a><\/strong> portrays Aunt March, and Laura Dern<\/a><\/strong> plays Marmee March. In addition,Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet<\/a><\/strong>takes on the role of Theodore “Laurie” Laurence.<\/p>\n

The film is directed by Greta Gerwig<\/strong>, and it looks like she has a personal connection to the Louisa May Alcott<\/strong> tale, too.<\/p>\n

“I always knew who Jo March was,” she told Vanity Fair<\/em> earlier this summer<\/a>. “She was the person I wanted to be.”<\/p>\n

In fact, the filmmaker told the magazine the story feels like “autobiography.”<\/p>\n

 “When you live through a book, it almost becomes the landscape of your inner life.\u2026 It becomes part of you, in a profound way,” she said.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

The story has hit the big screen before, including in 1933 and 1994. As for Gerwig’s version, the studio describes it as both “timeless and timely.” <\/p>\n
