A 31-year-old man from Thornton was seriously hurt by lightning Saturday at Rocky Mountain National Park.<\/p>\n
A park news release says it\u2019s unknown whether the man was hit by lightning directly, but he suffered serious injuries when he was stuck while hiking below tree line between Dream Lake and Lake Haiyaha.<\/p>\n
Other hikers found the man along the trail and called park
\nrangers. Members of the Rocky Mountain National Park Search and Rescue team reached
\nthe man and provided advanced medical care.<\/p>\n
The team then brought him down the trail in a wheeled litter
\nto the Bear Lake Trailhead. After that, he was taken by Estes Park Health
\nambulance to Glacier Basin Campground.<\/p>\n
Because of storms along the Front Range, Classic Air Medical
\nfrom Steamboat Springs flew from west of the Continental Divide to a large
\nmeadow near the Glacier Basin Campground.<\/p>\n
