{"id":32443,"date":"2019-10-07T14:25:41","date_gmt":"2019-10-07T20:25:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.skyhinews.com\/?p=60690"},"modified":"2019-10-08T08:33:33","modified_gmt":"2019-10-08T14:33:33","slug":"winter-storm-to-bring-up-to-10-inches-of-snow-later-this-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/kift\/local-news\/winter-storm-to-bring-up-to-10-inches-of-snow-later-this-week\/","title":{"rendered":"Winter storm to bring up to 10 inches of snow later this week"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Grand County&#8217;s chilly mornings could portend some early season snowfall on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for Grand County through Wednesday afternoon due to heightened fire conditions, but temperatures should cool down later in the week.<\/p>\n<p>A winter storm is expected to hit Colorado late Wednesday and coincide with the jet stream, an area of fast-moving air, to produce snow, according to OpenSnow.com.<\/p>\n<p>Temperatures are expected to drop Wednesday evening with snow possible Wednesday through Friday, according to the NWS. Friday morning is forecast to bring a hard freeze.<\/p>\n<p>Based on OpenSnow&#8217;s models, snow accumulations could range from 2-10 inches with the most significant snowfall in the mountains. Additionally, OpenSnow is predicting that Winter Park Resort will get about 8 inches between Wednesday and Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, Winter Park&#8217;s first snow fell Oct. 8. If predictions come true, this year&#8217;s snow could be only days behind.
