Raised in Denver, Rosella graduated from West High School and spent many years working for Montgomery Ward in Denver, eventually moving to Grand County in 1970, operating the Wards Catalog Store and the El Grande Theatre in Granby.<\/p>\n<p>Rosie was an active woman always willing to give of her time and talents to her family, as a volunteer for the Grand County Historical Museum, and in public service as Grand County Assessor, Assistant to the Grand County Board of Commissioners, and Town Councilwoman for the Town of Hot Sulphur Springs. <\/p>\n<p>Rosie loved to draw and paint, bowl and play bridge with friends in Hot Sulphur, and along with late husband Louis \u201cLou\u201d Doughty, was an avid golfer with the\u201d Happy Hackers\u201d in Grand Lake. She was the hub of her family no matter where they scattered. Rosella was always \u201chome\u201d base.<\/p>\n<p>She is survived by her sister Doris Mickle of Glendale, AZ, two children \u2014 Sue (Tom) O\u2019Malley of Coral Gables, FL, and Mark (Ginger) Evers of Denver, CO \u2014 as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.<\/p>\n<p>Interment will be at the Hot Sulphur Springs Cemetery in Hot Sulphur Springs, CO on October 19, 2019 at 2 p.m.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Long time Grand County resident Rosella Simmons Doughty (Evers), 98, of Hot Sulphur Springs, CO and Peoria, AZ passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 in Glendale, AZ.
